ANDERSON _ Janet Carol (24 April 1952 - 22 March 2005) passed away at home with her family around her. Jan is survived by sisters Pat (Ric) Williams of Toronto and Bey (Peter) Woodbridge of Thorney, England who will miss her so much in so many ways. They deeply appreciate all the friendship, care and support provided by Sue and Ken Birchmore and their family, Frances Lawson and her family (Sandy, Bev, Jim, Anne and all their children), Clara Coles and many other friends. Special thanks to Dr. P. Klimo and Dr. Doug Grant for their understanding and care. Flowers are gratefully declined and there will be no formal service by request.

BARBOUR _ Jean Clara, age 77, passed away unexpectedly March 16, 2005 on Zanzibar Island, Tanzania. She was fulfilling her dream vacation, a safari tour of Kenya/Tanzania, East Africa. She will be lovingly remembered by her family, husband Alfred, children Sharyl (Richie), Glenn, Donna (Roy), Ross (Sandra), Scott (Cathy), grandchildren Chelsea, Briana, Candice, Ryan, Lee, Sarah, Tyson, Cherisse, Kayley, Tessa, Haley, Celine and Sean. Also deeply missed by her sister Doreen (Fred), and many nieces and nephews. Jean Clara Whibley was born October 7, 1927 in North Vancouver and grew up in Vancouver and Burnaby. Together with her husband, Jean started the family business, A.C.T. Equipment Sales Ltd. in 1961 while simultaneously raising five children in North Burnaby. She retired in 1985 to spend more time at her cherished cottage on Keats Island and to explore many parts of the world. She was a very active member in the community. With her continued zest for life, her senior yea!
rs were filled with countless activities and socializing. Dancing, singing, fitness classes and weekly hikes were just a few of the many things she participated in. She will always be remembered for her generosity and love for cooking; especially baking which she loved to share with family and friends. Jean was a dear friend to so many that will miss her wonderful spirit dearly. A celebration of Jean's life will be held on April 1, 2005 at 2:00 pm. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Ave., Burnaby. Jean was an animal lover and supporter of SPCA and other charities. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jean's memory to the Burnaby SPCA or charity of your choice.

BUCKOLTZ _ Arthur Richard "OUR BROTHER BUCK", passed away suddenly March 12, 2005. He was born February 13th, 1950 in Vancouver. Predeceased by his Mother, Orlean. logoBURKHOLDER Major Ernest passed away March 24, 2005, remembered as a loving and patient mentor, Ernie spent all of his life in service to God through officership in the Salvation Army. Predeceased by his daughter Linda, he will be greatly missed by his family, wife Grace; daughter Wendy; daughter Diane; and sons-in-law Bruce Sutherland and Merle Murrin; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Eva Cameron. A celebration of Ernie's life will be held Wednesday, March 30 at 11:00 am, with visitation from 10 - 11am from Hendersons Funeral Home, 20786 Fraser Highway, followed by internment at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3788 Royal Oak Ave., Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Langley Lodge, 5451 204th St., with great thanks for the very special care extended to our father and our family in his final days.

CLAYDON _ Roy Arthur late of Victoria, formerly of Burnaby, BC born January 4, 1950 in Vancouver, BC passed away suddenly Saturday, March 19, 2005. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving family, wife Ruth of 35 years of marriage. Children Trevor (Lorinda), and Steven (Allison), two grandchildren Lauren and Zachary. Brothers Allan and Jim, sisters Jean and Janet, aunts, many nieces, nephews, cousins and very close friends from the mainland and the island. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Lucy. Roy's great loves were his motorcycles, camping, music, vintage and logging trucks. In 1967 he was a chockerman on the Mahatta River. From 1968-1982 he was a painter for McKenzie Barge and Marine Ways, then went to BC Ferries as a charge hand maintenance painter until present day. In his youth he was the LAMBA Gloves (Boxing) Champ, and also in soccer he won the Vancouver Sun Cup as part of the Provincial Champion team in 1963. Some of his other interests were coaching with his t!
wo sons with their soccer teams, Vancouver Island Heritage Truck Club, North Saanich Motorcycle Breakfast Group and his red baby Kenworth "Big Red". Most recently he completed 100 miles of the Kettle Valley bicycle trail, with special friends. He always spoke about his travels to Los Angeles in the 1960's with his best and very long time friend, Don. Roy was known never to throw anything out a true collector. If you ever needed a part or a helping hand: call on Roy. A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 26 at 2:00 pm at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC. In lieu of flowers donations gratefully accepted to the Arthritis Foundation.

Domenico, Bernice (Thate)
DOMENICO _ Bernice (nee Thate). Went to God on March 23, 2005 aged 82 following a brief illness. She is survived by her sisters; Dorothy and Beverley, and her daughter Judy (Keith). Also an extended family far too numerous to name. Bernice knew virtually all of them and cared for them all. Thanks to Dr James Park, and the medical and nursing staff of Delta Hospital who cared for her during her sickness. A special thank you to the Delta Hospice Society who were stalwart in their caring to the end. Please no flowers, a donation to the Delta Hospice Society in Bernice's name would be welcome. A memorial service will take place at noon Friday, April 1, 2005 at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 602 Kingsway, Vancouver. Reception to follow at her daughter Judy's home in Tsawwassen 1214 English Bluff Road.

FULLERTON _ George Fern, born on Good Friday, April 18, 1924, passed away suddenly on March 21, 2005 after a lengthy illness. He is predeceased by his six brothers and five sisters. GENDRON _ Sarah Margaret (nee McBride) December 18th, 1917 to March 17th, 2005 passed away with grace and in peace at her home of 36 years with her loving husband Jim close by. Married for 58 years they are the "couple of the century" devoting the golden years to each other's well being. Born in Northern Ireland, Maggie was the 2nd youngest of 13 children who immigrated to Canada in 1926. She is survived by 2 sisters Josie Donnelly and Netta Boynton. She will be surely missed by her own seven children and her grandchildren, Ann Bird (Clive) Sarah Jane, Geoff, Marianne, Virginia; Michael (Gail); Peter; Jane Bradner (Stephen), Colin, Meghan, Shannon, Tim; Stephen (Jenn), Russell, Claire, Sean; Richard, Dylan. Margaret was the light of her family's life. She was revered for her wisdom and elegance and was a delight with her Irish humour. Maggie embraced life in Canada but she rarely lost sight of her Irish heritage. The family is forever grateful to Dr. Leon Bard and Shylo Nurs!

HARRISON _ Muriel (Biggs) - Passed away peacefully on March 26th in Richmond Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 36 years, Jim and his children, Betty-Anne (Ron), Linda (Mike), Jim (Val) , Bill (Gayle), Tom and her children; Bill and Debbie (John); 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He married Mora in 1942 and they moved to Vancouver in 1954. PATERSON _ Marion Ruth in her 92nd year passed away at Lion's Gate Hospital on March 22, 2005. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Elinore Landry and Sydney Anderson; sister Eleanor Stedwill and brother John Acheson both of Waterloo, Ont.; grandchildren David Landry of Vancouver, Bryan Landry of Calgary, Cheryl Babb of Bear, Delaware, Wayne Landry of Grand Prairie, Alberta, Ember Williams of Vancouver, Dana Campbell of Calgary and 7 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Paterson was a Registered Nurse and her career spanned 50 years. In her later years she enjoyed watching tennis and golf, and was an avid bridge player. STEELE _ Alan James - Born April 26, 1983 in Calgary, Alberta, passed away suddenly on March 23, 2005 at Surrey Memorial Hospital. Alan was predeceased by his uncle Doug in 1980 and his grandfather William James in 1965. Dearly beloved son of Bob and Cathy; dear brother and friend to Shannon; loving companion and best friend to Erica Marshall. Alan will be lovingly remembered by his grandmother Mickey Flegel; grandparents Alan and Irene Hiles; uncle Ron and aunt Wren, uncle Doug and Zach, uncle Rob and aunt Carolyn; numerous cousins, close friends and co-workers, including his agent Deborah Harry and acting coach Mark Brandon. Alan was just beginning a successful career in both theatre and film - acting was his passion. He was particularly fond of the bonding he shared with his father as they sold Irish dance shoes together while his sister and mother danced. A Vigil Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, March 29 at 8:00 p.m. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 16079 - 88th !
