Deaths (12/02/05)
Stanley A. MOUNCE 1934 2005 With great sadness we announce the passing of
our beloved husband, devoted father, and proud grampa on November 28, 2005.
He passed unexpectedly in Cusco, Peru while pursuing his love of travel.
Stan is survived by Lorraine, best friend and wife of 48 years; daughter
Corinne (Byron); son Graeme (Ailsa); grandchildren: Conor and Niamh Henry;
brother Donald (Cathy, deceased); nieces Kirsten and Meaghan, and extended
family and friends. A native of Cumberland, Stan was born in 1934 and
attended the local elementary and high schools. He began teaching in 1957 at
Bevan and within six years was principal at Glacier View School, a position
he went on to hold at several other local area schools. Stan loved and made
the most of his retirement and always kept busy whether helping friends,
picking raspberries, or driving milk trucks throughout the Valley. He
enjoyed travelling with family and friends, but always relished coming home
where he could often be seen walking around the Air Park, relaxing in Tim
Horton's or cycling to Union Bay. Special times often include fishing with
Graeme and Don, playing with his grandchildren, and golfing with friends
(some of whom witnessed his recent hole-in-one). Stan will be greatly
missed. We are grateful to our wonderful family and friends for their love
and support; heartfelt thanks to Larry and Isabel for all their help while
in Peru. Memorial services will be held at COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND
CREMATORIUM on Monday, December 5th at 1 p.m.; reception to follow at Crown
Isle Golf and Resort Community In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in
