Jones, Margaret Alexandra

JONES, Margaret Alexandra June 20, 1925 to January 7, 2006 On January 7th,
2006, Mum slipped away to join her beloved Eric. She leaves behind not only
her family but dear friends from coast to coast and so many happy memories.
Her time spent with Girl Guides, especially Straits District and the Trefoil
Guild, gave her much enjoyment and delight. Her greatest triumph was waving
to the crowds from the "Guide Mobile " in the Lavender Day Parade where she
used her "queen wave " to perfection. She treasured the time spent with the
ladies of the Legion Auxiliary, the Anglican Church Women, and the Eastern
Star. Through stories and reminiscing we are left with many glimpses of a
life well travelled and enjoyed. It is our hope that Mum and Dad will travel
together in death as they did in life, with love and devotion. Goodbye Mum,
we love you. Hildy and Russ, Martyn and Beverley, Robyn and Chadd, Nicole,
Brad and Angie, Ethan and Emma. The funeral service will be held at All

Roberts, John
Photo
ROBERTS, John Sidney It is with great sadness that the family wishes to
announce the passing of John Sidney Roberts on January 5th, 2006 at
Crossroads Hospice. A dedicated husband, father and grandfather, he will be
sadly missed by his loving wife and partner of 41 years Pam; his two sons
and daughters-in-law Shaun and Joan, Paul and Carmen; his grandchildren: his
bonitas" Emma and Samantha, and the three amigos" Jason, Cameron and Duncan;
his sister Gwen (Reg); and by many loving friends and family. John was born
in Worcester, England October 8, 1944 to Sidney and Elsie Roberts. He met
and fell in love with Pam and they married on January 22nd 1964. John and
Pam emigrated to Canada in 1967 with little means, but much promise and
hope. John began a highly successful career in the emerging computer
industry, first as an IT manager for Mac's Milk in Ontario, later as a sales
manager for DataPoint. In 1987 he and Pam and their Old English sheepdog
Spanky, drove across Canada and settled in Victoria where he continued to
work for Datapoint. In 1989 he founded Syscom Consulting in Vancouver and
Victoria with business partner Phil Pimlot and moved to Coquitlam to head
the Vancouver office. Through John's stewardship, Syscom became a highly
successful IT service leader in British Columbia and was eventually
purchased by Telus in 1997. John continued on as President of Syscom until
he retired in 2000. John's passions were travel, golf and especially
photography. His love of capturing scenery began in 1987 on his journey
across Canada and this passion grew and developed for almost 20 years. John
never failed to be awed and moved by the incredible beauty that surrounds us
in our world. For him, capturing that beauty on film was a labour of love.
John and Pam's travels inspired an impressive collection of photographs and
memories. He put up a tremendous fight against brain cancer (Glioblastoma)
for more than two years and defied the odds of survival well beyond any
predictions. He was a man of tremendous strength, character and ethics and
this has been a source of inspiration to all those who have had the
privilege to know him. Much thanks and appreciation to Dr. Paul Klimo, Dr.
Stephen Barron and Dr. Ramesh Sahjpaul for their excellent and dedicated
