ALLEN, William Alfred Chief Superintendent, RCMP Born in London, England, on
November 30, 1917, William (Bill) Alfred Allen, Chief Superintendent, RCMP
(Retired) passed away peacefully at home on February 3, 2006, with his
loving wife and children at his side. Bill served his county for 35 years as
a proud member of the RCMP, beginning as a clarinet player in the
newly-formed band in 1938 and retiring as Commanding Officer, Headquarters
Division in 1974. Postings in Ottawa, Whitehorse, Lethbridge, Edmonton, and
again in Ottawa provided Bill and his family the opportunity to experience
Canada to the fullest. Bill Allen is survived by Peg, his wife of 60 years,
his children Kerry Thompson (Vince), Kate Thrift (Dennis), and Rod Allen
(Iva), and the grandchildren of whom he was so proud; Jeff and Jamie
Thompson, Gordon, Megan, and Robert Thrift, and Keegan and Alyssa Allen. The
family would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to Dr. Hugh Downs for the
wonderful care he provided to Bill over the years. We would also like to
thank the extraordinary home support workers with the Victoria Hospice
Society (Fran), the Quick Response Team (Lani and Linda), and the Palliative
Response Team (Carol, Angela, and Ruth) who made it possible for Bill to end
his journey with dignity in the comfort of his home. A memorial service will
be held on Thursday, February 9 at 2:30 at St. Luke's Church, 3821 Cedar
Hill X Road with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the

Passed away at home February 3, 2006. Survived by his wife Mika of 43 years;

ARCHIBALD, Dorothy Lillian Surrounded by her family, our beloved mother
passed away peacefully on February 3, 2006 and is now with her Lord, her
husband Maury, son Cammy and brother Wally Adam. Born in Lethbridge,
Alberta, November 23, 1925, Mom also resided in Calgary and Nanaimo before
moving to Victoria in 1972. Mom was a long-time member of St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Church. She shared her love of music as a member of the church
choir and the Lethbridge and Victoria chapters of Sweet Adelines. Mom was
devoted to and will be greatly missed by her children Greg Archibald, Glenda
Rae, Carrie Ziebart (Pat), Valerie Blenkin (Don), her grandchildren Jeffrey,
Claire, Denise, their mother Pat, Tahra, Benny, Kelly, Sarah, Josh and Faith
and great grandchildren, Kaleb, Madison and Tyler. A memorial service will
be held at 1:30 pm Thursday, February 9 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church
corner of Douglas and Broughton Streets, Victoria. In lieu of flowers,

CALDERHEAD, David Robert Morton (Mort) August 27, 1910 to February 2, 2006.
Passed away peacefully at Sidney Care Home. Predeceased by his wife Berna.
Lovingly remembered by his sister Ruth Ealey of California; son Kenneth of
California; daughter Carroll (Ron) Olson and Janis Rosevold both of Sidney,
B.C.; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren & many friends and
extended family. Mort was a long time member of McLeary Golf Course.

HUBBER, Michael Andrew 1942 2006 Lover, Fighter, Dancer, Drummer. Michael
brought people together through 20 years of family gatherings. He advocated
for peace and understanding throughout his life. The celebration of
Michael's life will be held at 1923 Fernwood St. in the Little Fernwood
Hall, Saturday Feb 11, at 2:00pm. Music, food and beverage is welcomed.

JEANPIERRE, Henri Eugene Leon June 27, 1924 February 1, 2006 Our Dad (Jean)
passed away suddenly but peacefully at Saanich Peninsula Hospital on
February 1, 2006, after a fall in his driveway on January 23rd. Jean was
predeceased by his beloved wife, Betty Lorraine Jeanpierre in 1998, and his
2 sisters, Lucie and Raymonde. He is survived by his loving stepdaughter,
Lorelie, with whom he lived in North Saanich, his sons, Simon of Victoria
and Richard of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, and his grandchildren,
Christopher, Michelle, Devon and Alan. Jean is also survived by his 12
nieces and nephews in France and Betty's nephew, Roderick (Jane) Batten in
England. Jean will be missed by a large number of friends in Canada, the
U.S., England, France and Germany. Jean was born in Le Clerjus, Vosges in
Eastern France. In the early 1950's he emigrated to Canada, firstly living
in Quebec and later St. Pierre & Miquelon. In 1952 he arrived in Vancouver
and moved to Victoria in 1953. He met Betty in 1954. Jean was very active
with soccer, firstly as a player, then coach, manager, sponsor of a team at
Lake Hill and finally, as a well-respected referee. Jean had a varied
career, baking bread, working at a flour mill, a market, a general store,
logging, a shipyard and finally in the concrete business as a finisher and
eventually, owner of The Victoria Cement Man Ltd., a concrete pumping,
placing and finishing company in Victoria, until his retirement. Since
retirement, Jean and Lorelie enjoyed their tips to France, their garden, the
dog, many cats and a flock of chickens. Due to the circumstances surrounding
our Mom's death in 1998, no memorial service was held. The family now wishes
to include in Dad's memorial, one for our Mom. Visitation for family and
friends will be held in the Sands Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra Street,
Victoria, BC on Saturday, February 11, 2006 between 9:00 and 10:00 am.
Memorial Service will follow at 10:00 am. After the service there will be a
reception in the Sands Arbor Reception Centre followed by burial at Hatley
Memorial Gardens at 2:00 pm. 203927

LOWE, Robert Bernie June 10th, 1919 Feb 3, 2006 Passed away peacefully in
Palliative care at Saanich Peninsula Hospital. Pre-dececed by his Loving
Wife Flora Esther Lowe May 6, 1987. Survived by Only Daughter Flora Mary
Hagel, 2 Grand-daughters Carol and Susan Hagel, Great-Grandchildren Micheal
and Suzanne Kroeger Sister Jean Tapp, many nieces and nephews. Many Thanks
to Dr. R. Kennedy for his kindness and support. A celebration of his life
will be held Thursday February 9th 3:00 PM at the Army and Navy Club 9831

MACPHAIL (nee Scott), Gabrielle Margaret Mary Our dear mother passed away
peacefully on January 26, 2006. She joins her loving husband Malcolm (Mac),
eldest son Larry, and parents Mary Agnes (nee Daly) and John Morgan Scott
and baby brother John. Mom was born June 10, 1920 on the family ranch in
Consort, Alberta. She graduated from Olds Agricultural College with a degree
in Home Economics at the age of 17. Mom spent several summers working at
Chateau Lake Louise, and at one point, rode the rails out to Vancouver with
her sister Kate and friends. In 1941, the family moved to Victoria, and Mom
attended Sprott Shaw Business School, becoming a legal secretary at Victoria
City Hall. Mom was introduced to Dad, Malcolm MacPhail, after the war, and
they married in 1947 at Saint Andrew's Cathedral. Mom remained a cowgirl
extraordinaire, and for years entertained us at bedtime with wonderful
stories of the ranch. A tireless volunteer for the Victoria Crisis Line, the
READ Society and the ACLD, Mom was awarded Canada's Literacy Volunteer Award
in 1990. She was a devoted member of St Patrick's parish, and sang in the
choir for many years. Her love of music is fondly remembered by her family.
Lovingly cared for in her last years in the family home by her daughter
Morgan, she is survived by sister Kate Belton, brother-in-law Ken McPhail
(Jo) and many nieces and nephews; children Miriam (Fred Hiigli), Katie (Doug
Metters and children Gabriel, Aurora and Dallas), Scott (Gail and sons
Martin and Adam), Morgan [son Kieran (Sing Chau and children, Kieran Jr. and
Jade)], Pat (Jane Underwood), and relatives in Scotland and Ireland. A
heartfelt thank you to Mom's South Vancouver Island homecare workers, to the
Jubilee Hospital staff of Emergency and 2W wards, and particularly to Dr.
Carroll and to the staff at Victoria Hospice, whose kindness to Mom and to
all of us will be long remembered. A Funeral Mass was held at the Franciscan
Friary, celebrant Father Anthony Sebastian. In lieu of flowers, donations in
Margaret's memory could be made to the Victoria Hospice. 204007

MCNAUGHTON, Malcolm July 13, 1918 February 02, 2006 Passed away peacefully
at Saanich Penninsula Extended Care Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Predeceased by his loving wife, Isabel in October 2002. Malcolm had an
interesting life as a radio operator and radio technician with then Trans
Canada Air Lines, later to become Air Canada, from 1940 to 1970. In 1970 he
left Air Canada and went to work for Eastern Provincial Air lines for
another seven years. After he retired Malcolm and Isabel moved to Sidney
where they enjoyed their retirement years. In his spare time he was very
active with his ham radio and did volunteer work for Mount Newton Centre and
also found time to help anyone with radio or electrical problems. Malcolm
leaves many friends and relatives. We would like to thank the staff at
Saanich Penninsula Extended Care and Dr. Keith fot their kindness and
excellent care. There will be no funeral at Malcolms request, but there will
be a farewell gathering at the home of Bruce and Joan Payne at a later date.
Donations in Malcolm's memory may be made to San Penn Hospital Mt. Newton

MORRY, William "Bill " Age 83 years, passed away at Peace Arch Hospital on
February 5, 2006. Bill is survived by his beloved and devoted wife Jeanne;
one daughter Donna (Richard) Baspaly; grandson David (Mirjana) and
great-grandson Austin; and grandson Dane (Veronika). He will be dearly
missed by all his family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on
Thursday, February 9, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Victory Memorial Park Funeral

Service Date Correction PERRIER, Pauline (nee Heisler) Born June 29, 1912 in
Allan, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully at her home in Resthaven Lodge,
Sidney, B.C. on January 31, 2006. Paulina (Paula) loved her home and the
good folks who cared for her there. She is survived by her daughter,
Arthurine (Saxton) Dampier (Ken) and her son Stanley Saxton (Pat), 15
grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren and her
sister Barbara Garman of Kamloops, B.C. Predeceased by her 2 husbands Arthur
Saxton and Napoleon Perrier, her daughters Ides (Saxton) Gravelle, Maureen
(Saxton) Townsend, her son Edric Saxton, her parents Adelhaid and Joseph
Heisler, by 8 sisters and 6 brothers. She is also survived by many nieces
and nephews. Paulina lived in Saskatchewan and Northern Ontario before
moving to Victoria in 1967. She served as President and Past President of
the Trafalgar Branch #42, Ladies Auxiliary, Victoria for many years. A mass
will be held at St. Elizabeth's Church at 10030 3rd Street, Sidney on
Friday, February 10, 2006 at 12 noon and a tea will follow in the church.
All her family and friends are invited to attend Mass and tea to help

PETERS, Margaret June Born June 15, 1915 in Vancouver. Passed away
peacefully at Royal Jubilee Hospital on January 28, 2005. Predeceased by her
husband Edward Peters in 1996. Lovingly remembered by her three children
Diane (John), David (Sanae), and Fred, grandchildren Kate (Peter), Susan,
Craig, Kamira and Kim and great grandson Finlay. The family wishes to thank
Carol Hughes for all her help and loving care. A memorial service will be

SAVAGE, Peter Malcolm Born Jan 3, 1928, passed away unexpectedly Feb 2,
2006. Peter spent some of his youth at Francois Lake, BC and the balance on
the ocean working before settling in Victoria BC. He was a kind, vital and
positive person with many good things to say about everyone. He will be
sadly missed by his sister Margaret Halls (Montreal), step brother Keith
Reed (Burns Lake), step sister Beverly McLelan and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2504 Government Street, Victoria on Feb 9

WARREN, Winnifred Passed away on February 3rd, 2006 at the age of 85.
Winnifred was born in Mossbank, Saskatchewan on April 10th, 1920, one of
seven children. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years,
Garfield; her daughters, Jean (Floyd) Haller, Barbara (Rick) Dysart, Sandra
Benn and Cathy (Al) Becker; eight grandchildren and eleven great
grandchildren. Winnifred will be great missed by her three sisters, Anne,
Mildred (her twin) and Betty, and her brother, Don; her relatives and many
friends. She was predeceased by her brothers, Harry and Alfred. Special
thanks to Dr. Mawdsley for his outstanding care of Mom, especially over the
last few months. A Memorial Service will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel,
1803 Quadra Street, Victoria, BC on Wednesday, February 8th, 2006 at 1:00

WILMOT, A. Ellen Passed away peacefully at Central Care Home, Victoria, B.C.
on February 3, 2006. Born in Exeter, Devon, England on November 5, 1911, she
is survived by her sisters Babe Elliott and Winnifred Fifield and their
families in Exeter. True to her keen sense of adventure, Ellen emigrated to
Canada in 1948 with the Longridge family and she is fondly remembered by
Frances, Chris & Linda, Paul & Darlene, James & Louise and their families,
and especially Daphne and her husband Ranald Donaldson. Ellen devoted her
life to caring for and looking after others. She will be greatly missed by
her family, the Longridges and her special friends Helen Holliday, Irene
Mullen and Vi Moor. A special thank you is sent to all the staff at Central
Care Home for their compassionate care over the past 4 years. A memorial
service will be held at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1155 Fort Street, on
