ALPIN _ Roland. Beloved husband of Ruth Elise of White Rock passed away at
the Peace Arch Hospital on March 2, 2006 at the age of 87 years. Besides his
loving wife, Roland is survived by one son, Richard (Lorna) of Richmond;
five daughters, Gillian (Rick) of Vancouver, Lesley (Gerald) of Terrance,
Margaret (Frank) of Surrey, Rosemary of Burnaby, Dorothy (Ross) of Surrey
and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Gertie Wilcock of
Yorkshire and his brother Leonard (Jo) of Kent and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services wil be held at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre,
14831-28th Ave, Surrey on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. No flowers by

ARBEAU _ Doris. Born January 29, 1923, passed away February 16, 2006. She
will be missed by numerous family and friends. Funeral service will be held
Wednesday, March 8 at 11 am at the Longhouse Church, 2595 Franklin Street,

AZANZA _ Margaret O. of Langley, BC passed away peacefully on March 2, 2006
at the age of 83 years. Margaret is survived by her daughter Sharon, 2 sons
Ivan and Gordon, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother Fred
and his wife Donna, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be
held on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the Arbor Chapel at Valley
View Funeral Home, 14660 - 72 Ave, Surrey, BC. Interment will follow in
Valley View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer
Society would be appreciated by the family.

BENSON _ Gordon. Passed away February 22, 2006 at the age of 64, at Vernon
Hospice House. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, son, David (Corrina) of
Winfield, daughter, Jill (Russ) Field of Surrey, and three granddaughters,
Kaitlyn, Cassandra, and Mackenzie. He is also survived by his brother Al
(Joan) and sister, Yvonne (Bob) Clark, both of Edmonton, and his
mother-in-law and extended family. Gordon grew up in Derwent, Alberta, and
began his banking career in Edmonton in 1960. He moved to BC and spent 37
more years working for CIBC before retiring in 1998. Since retirement, he
had health problems, but was able to enjoy trips to local lakes in the motor
home for many fishing excursions. A Celebration of Life will be held this
summer at Gardom Lake, one of his favorite camping spots. In lieu of
flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Vernon and District
Hospice Society would be appreciated.

BRYAN _ David Alan. On Wednesday, February 22, 2006, after a very courageous
battle with cancer, David Alan Bryan passed away peacefully at Royal Inland
Hospital in Kamloops. Al, as he preferred to be called, was born in
Yorkshire, England and he never lost the pride of being a "Yorkshire" man.
After a lengthy service in the British Military, Al and his first wife Marg,
immigrated to Richmond, B.C. After many years employed at Weiser Lock in
Burnaby, Al retired to Sorrento on the Shuswap Lake with his long time
companion and soul mate Kathleen "Kay" Johnson. Al is survived by his loving
children David, Barbara and Pauline and grandchildren Bryan, Jenny, and B.J.
Numerous relatives and friends in both England and Canada will also sadly
miss him. No funeral by request. Donations in lieu of flowers, to the
Canadian Cancer Society.

CLIPSHAM _ Albert Wesley (Wes) passed away on February 19th, 2006 at the age
of 56 years. Wes is survived by his 2 children, 2 grandchildren, 1 aunt, 5
sisters, 1 brother and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A
Celebration of his life will be held on Monday, March 13 at 1:00 p.m. at

GRANN _ Qway-Aathia Faye (nee JACOBS). It is with great sadness we announce
the passing of our beloved wife and mother. Born September 18, 1957, Qway
passed away peacefully on March 2, 2006 with her family by her side. Her
family was her greatest joy in life - devoted mother to Deanne, Peter and
John Jr. and loving wife to her husband John Sr. Qway, a Coast Salish
native, was raised on the Tsawwassen First Nation (Land Facing the Sea). She
was very active in the native culture and art. She fulfilled her dream as an
artist and an entrepreneur when she opened Qway-Aathia's Native Art Gallery.
It brought her much happiness. Qway was an amazing woman of courage,
strength and good humour. Her generous spirit touched many lives. She will
be greatly missed and remembered by her large extended family, her many
friends, and those whose life she touched. Many thanks to everyone for their
thoughts and prayers throughout her courageous battle. The family also
wishes to thank the staff at VGH ICU and the 9th floor for their kind and
loving care. Qway, you are soaring with the eagles now. Prayers will be held
on Thursday, March 9 at 7:00 p.m. and a traditional ceremony will be held in
Qway-Aathia's honour on Friday, March 10 at 10:00 a.m. at the Longhouse,
Tsawwassen First Nation. Memorial donations may be made to the VGH and UBC
Hospital Foundation.

GREENE _ Stuart Gordon, age 54, passed away quietly at home in the presence
of his family. He is survived by his wife Cori-Ann; son Sean and Nicola;
daughter Sarah and Derek, and the brood of grandchildren - Fionn, Gordon,
Taio, Elijah, Nikkolas and James and step father Don Bruce. Stuart was
predeceased by Olive and Richard Greene; brother Rick Greene; and sister
Diana Sparshu. Thanks goes to all those who supported him. Come celebrate
his life at an open house memorial Sunday, March 12th, 2006 1:00 p.m. - 4:00

LACHANCE _ Severe (Sam). Born March 23, 1931 in St. Eustache, Manitoba
passed away peacefully March 3, 2006 in Langley. Sam will be sadly missed by
Florence, his loving wife of 53 years; children Robert (Terry), Paul
(Carol), Gerald (Tera) and Nicole; grandchildren Jenette, Marc, Lisa Don,
Danniel, Lisa, Michael, and Matthew; great granddaughters Chantel and

MAKOWSKI _ Mary, born September 20, 1915 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away
in the arms of Jesus on February 28, 2006 in Vancouver, BC. Predeceased by
her parents Tekla (Tilly) and Paul Hutsel, as well as her sister Anne Mowdy
and her son Robert Makowski and husband John Makowski, as well as son-in-law
Stanley Shawara. Mary is lovingly remembered by her children Raymond,
Antoinette (Tawnie), Maureen and daughter-in-law Florence; grandchildren
Ruby, Mary-Anne, Keith, Kenny, Kevin, Kelly, Darwyn, Darrell, Darlene,
Charlene, Tawny, Tammy and Johnny-Ray, as well as 10 great-grandchildren,
nieces and nephews and other family and friends. Mary lived a very quiet
life after giving her heart to the Lord in 1970, she liked to visit the
Rainbow Mission where Antoinette was preaching as well as visiting other
Christian churches. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 6, 2006
at 2:00 pm at the Arbor Chapel at Valley View Funeral Home, 14660 - 72 Ave,
Surrey, BC. Mary's family welcomes all family and friends to attend.

Walter, Kailey Lila Bugz Kailey Lila Walter, of Blaine, WA passed away on
Tuesday, February 28, 2006. She was 17 years old. She was born in Bellingham
on October 8, 1988 to Tim and Cindy Walter of Blaine, WA. She attended
Blaine School District her entire life. Kailey had many interests, friends
and relatives. She cherished those special relationships that came through
her playing of fast pitch, basketball, and soccer. Her peers nicknamed her
"Bugz". Kailey loved her teachers, principals, coaches, and counselors. She
was faithful in doing her homework and studies. She thoroughly enjoyed a
brief stint of volunteering at Stafholt's Good Samaritan Center. She is
survived by; her parents Tim and Cindy Walter of Blaine; her sister
Krista-lena Crane and husband Chris of Blaine; her grandparents Donald and
Ann Walter of Blaine, Lila and Don Young of Castella, CA, and Art and Marion
Jackson of Surrey, BC, Canada; her uncles and aunts Brendan and Lauri Walter
of Blaine, Jonathan and Kari Walter of Blaine, Wayne and Bene Jackson of
Chilliwack, BC, and Wendy and Tony Boogard of Yarrow, BC; her nephew Jacob
Crane, and her cousin who was like a brother, Leif Walter. Her extended
family is numerous. Kailey's fervent Christian life was nourished through
the people and ministries of her grandfather's church, the Blaine United
Church of Christ, the Northwood Alliance Church, and the Hillcrest Chapel.
Her family is comforted by the words of Jesus when he said, "Let not your
hearts be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's
house are many mansions." Kailey has a special room in God's mansions.
Kailey's family is so appreciative of the outpouring of community love.
Friends have been asking, "What can we do?" "Keep us in your prayers." An
account has been opened at Blaine's Whatcom Educational Credit Union, 249593
Timothy Walter, The Kailey L. Walter Memorial Fund. A Memorial Service will
be held at Blaine's High School Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, March 7,
at 5:30 PM. You may share your thoughts and memories of Kailey in the online
