BOGGIE, Rhoda Isabell (nee BOWES) March 21, 1925 - March 7, 2000 You were
always there right from the start with a sense of humour and a generous
heart. You carried yourself with humility and pride with that beautiful
smile you could never hide. A lady and our hero you will always be the one
who lived with such dignity. We miss you and wish you were here and then
realize that you are always near. For you are the sun that shines above. You
are the rainbows that we love. You are the wind that gently blows past. A
tangible presence we can almost grasp. Remember we love you and always will
and only wish time could have stood still. _We hold you in our hearts
forever, your loving family

GEORGE _ Lillian Mary (nee HARRISON) made her final journey peacefully, at
home, surrounded by her children on March 3, 2006. Born in Victoria November
14, 1918, Lillian's early years were spent at her family's home, Kearsley on
the waterfront in Oak Bay. It was here that her love of the ocean began,
leading her at 16 to circumnavigate Vancouver Island in a tiny sailboat with
her best friend Daphne. In later years that love kept pulling her back to
her favourite place, the pounding surf of Long Beach. After completing a
varied education that included several years at St. Anne's Academy in New
Westminster, Lillian graduated as an X-Ray technician. Moving to Montreal,
she lived and laughed with the McKenna family, and met lifelong friend Mary
Estelle Elvinger. She then married and settled in North Vancouver, raising
four children with commitment and determination. In her later years, Lillian
poured her abundant creative energy into pursuing gardening (a spectacular
rose garden) and art. Her final year was spent at Gibsons Garden Inn,
Gibsons, B.C. Predeceased by beloved younger sister Frances Crohn, Lillian
will be forever loved by children Kathryne (Robert) Klein, Carel (Jim) Bond,
Frank (Carol) George and Margrett (David Diether) George, grandchildren
Andrew, Michael, Iain, Mathew, Courtney and David who adored and delighted
their Grannie Lyn, nephew and niece Tad (Terry) and Andrea (Tim), their
children Bart, Justine and Alex, aunt Wayne Leigh-Spencer, and best friend
in later life Edith Watson. We take this opportunity to share some of what
Mum meant to us as she was adamant that no service be held. We remain amazed
at and grateful to this loving, brilliant, beautiful, artistic woman who put
her own dreams aside, dedicating her life to loving and raising us.
Courageous and fiercely independent, Mum was also charismatic and utterly
charming. She drew on her innate sense of humour to cope with life's daily
challenges and we will vividly remember her contagious laugh. Mum's vision
of our potential and purpose in life was clear, and she was determined that
each of us would realize that vision. She instilled in us her view that
education was paramount to achieving self-sufficiency and independence. Mum
always let us know how proud she was of her children. We adored her.
Lillian's family is so grateful for the care and support offered their
mother in her final year. Special thanks to the home care staff, Dr. Stuart
Iglesias, the staff at St. Mary's and St. Paul's Hospitals and Gibsons
Garden Inn. Mum found solace and inspiration in nature, especially the trees
and the sky. To celebrate her life, a bench will be built at the new Good
Sam facility in Gibsons. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lupus and
Cancer Foundations (Mum's favourite charities) are welcomed.
