WOODMAN, Douglas (Doug) Clayton
Douglas (Doug) Clayton Woodman, born Oct. 10, 1946 in Vulcan AB to Don &
Ruth Woodman, passed away at his home in Alliance, AB on April 17, 2006.
In 1964 Doug moved with his family to Grasmere, BC where he helped run the
family business until they sold it in 1980 & moved to Cranbrook & lived
until he moved to Alliance in 1989.
Doug learned to play the piano when he was about 6 yrs old. Even though he
couldn't read music. He then learned to play the accordion. As years went on
he picked up the guitar & the clavinet, which became his favorite.
Doug is preceded in death by his parents & grandparents. Doug leaves behind
1 sister & 3 brothers, Georgena (Herb) Palmer, William Woodman, Wayne
(Sharon) Woodman, Pat (Riane) Woodman, as well as many nieces, nephews &
many, many friends.
Memorial services at a later date.
STANYER, Edwin Leroy (Ted)
Born in Kimberley, BC on July 13, 1941 passed away after a short battle with
cancer April 14, 2006. Ted is survived by his wife Louise, children: Nita
(Gary), Darcy (Leisa), Dean (Deena), Todd (Sandy), David (Kathy) and 9
grandchildren: Denny, Corey, Matt, Josh, Bronwen, Caleb, Brooklyn, Adam, and
Robert. Also his mom Edna and siblings Lorraine (Bill), Marvin (Judy),
Maxine (Roger), Rick (Chris), Mabel (Dee), Peggy, Lois (Dick) and Herb
(Angie) and numerous nieces and nephews. Ted is predeceased by his father
Edwin, and 2 sisters, Iris and Mildred and 4 brothers, Ken, Charles,
Clarence and Frank. Ted enjoyed camping with family and friends, fishing,
hunting and hiking in the mountains of the East Kootenays. A “Celebration of
Life” will be held on Monday April 24th at the Wasa Hall.
Those wishing to remember Ted may do so by donations to the Kimberley
Special Care Home (The Pines), Palliative Care, 386 2nd Avenue, Kimberley,
B.C. V1A-2Z8
