BELGUE, Mary Elizabeth June 12, 1966 April 28, 2006 After an unbelievably
courageous battle with cancer, Mary left us in peace and serenity with her
mother and her partner at her side. Loved by so many, she is survived by her
mother Catherine and stepfather Ian, her father Terence and stepmother
Nancy, her sisters Lia and Sarah, her brother Michael, her step and half
brothers Ian, John and Daniel, and her partner Carl, along with scores of
friends and family in Canada, the United States and Korea. Mary faced her
illness with dignity and incredible strength, after a life characterized by
grace, independence and style. An accomplished fashion designer, artist and
chef, anything Mary touched would be influenced by her flair and particular
point of view. Always up for a spirited discussion on anything from the
English premiership to Eastern philosophy, she was a daughter, a sister, an
auntie, a mentor, a friend, an inspiration. Finally free, you are with us
always in our hearts, our spirits and our minds Mary. We love you. We would
like to give a special thanks to Ashanti, Mieke and Judith, who enabled Mary
to face the final stage of her life with great dignity and comfort. We are
indebted to you forever. A celebration of Mary's life will take place at
2:00pm, Wednesday May 3rd, 2006 at the University of Victoria Interfaith
Chapel, in Victoria, BC. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to
the Victoria Hospice Society, www.victoriahospice.org or the David Suzuki
Foundation, www.davidsuzuki.org 237963

SPENCER-JONES, Eira 1904 2006 After a long and happy life, Eira died on
April 27, 2006 at the age of 102, at Sunrise of Victoria, where she had been
residing for three years. She was predeceased in 1990 by her husband of 60
years, Oswald Morris Spencer-Jones. Up until the week preceding her death,
she was actively enjoying life, including her evening sherry, and very much
appreciating the loving care and attention of her extended family.
Daughters, Barbara and Rosemary, are particularly grateful to all the
wonderfully caring staff on the Reminiscence floor of Sunrise, and to Linda
and Diane, who helped keep her company on a daily basis. Respectful of her
wishes, there will be no funeral service; instead family and friends at
