daughter Louise (Harry) Kirkpatrick, son John (Carol), daughter Frances

great-grandchildren Morgan, Jacob, Haylee and Chloe. Rud grew up in
Woodfibre and in 1942, moved to Vancouver, his birthplace, to raise his
family. During the war years he was a machinist at Dominion Bridge. In 1946
he began a 35 year career with BC Tel (Telus) starting in the equipment

Rud was a man of great integrity. He will be remembered for his unfailing
dedication to his family and his tremendous contribution to baseball, the
game he loved. His involvement with baseball spanned more than 50 years as
coach, administrator and ultimately, as groundskeeper at Nat Bailey Stadium

life career" he transformed Nat Bailey into a premier playing field, often
referred to as "the greatest little ball park in North America." His work
earned him the admiration and respect of hundreds of players, coaches, and
managers, both professional and amateur, and of dedicated Nat Bailey fans.
The family invites you to join us in a celebration of Rud's life at 11 am,
Sunday November 26th, at the Firefighters Social and Athletic Club, 6516
