ROBERTSON _ Mary Evalyn. February 26, 1912 - November 4, 2006. Mom, your
passing saddened us and left a terrible void in our lives. We hoped your
reassuring presence would be with us forever. Your kind loving nature was
exemplary to all who knew you. Mom was born and raised in Findlater,
Saskatchewan to Irish immigrant parents William John and Mary Gray.
Findlater was a farming community where life was challenging and family was
strong. The dust-bowl Depression years forced the Gray family to head west
to Vancouver in 1932. During the war Mom met and married James Norman
Robertson. A resident of the North Shore for most of her married life she
was dedicated to her family. Her generous spirit, quick mind, determination
and love of life will long be remembered. Predeceased by husband Norman and
her 2 brothers Wilf and Ed Gray. Survived by son Brent (Andrea), daughter
Deirdre Gulajec (Gene), sister Leta Pawluk of Toronto, 4 grandchildren Anna
and Stewart Robertson, Lara and Derek Gulajec and 3 granddogs Nikki, Tess
and Glen. For the past 10 years Mom lived with her family enriching our
lives. Visits from her sister were the highlight of her year - warm
occasions for the entire family. How can we ever forget those wonderful
ginger cookies and Shirley Child's wacky cake! We miss you Mom but you will
always be in our hearts and thoughts. "Love you forever." In remembrance -
donations to the BC Lung Association.

STICKWOOD _ Thomas Selby October 19, 1923 - November 26, 2006 Tom was born
in Newmarket and lived in Queensville, Ontario, and as a young man served in
the Canadian Army during World War II. He married Isobel in 1946 and in 1955
moved his young family to Lulu Island, British Columbia in search of greater
economic opportunity. He often reminded the family that after one BC winter
he knew that he would never live in Ontario again. Heart trouble forced his
early retirement from Benwell-Atkins, and he spent "the best years of my
life" in his waterfront home in Steveston. Tom fought cancer, blindness and
many heart attacks with an indomitable spirit, and was proud to be a 30 year
survivor of triple bypass surgery. He attributed his longevity, in spite of
these serious health challenges, to long walks on the dyke and a glass or
two of red wine before dinner. A loyal friend and avid gardener, Tom lost
his battle with congestive heart failure on Sunday.Tom was predeceased by
his beloved son Chuck (1981) and wife Isobel (1984). He is survived by

Last.
