BEAUDOIN-HAMILTON, Donna November 14, 1952 January 24, 2007 Today our wife,
daughter, mom and dear friend, Donna Beaudoin-Hamilton courageously lost her
two year battle with Cancer. Donna slipped away peacefully in her sleep, in
Denver, Colorado with her family at her side. Donna will be lovingly
remembered by her husband Dan, mom Erica, son and daughter-in-law Bobby and
Luann, and step-son Ryan, brothers, sister and many friends in Canada and
the U.S. You're beautiful... it's true, may the Angels dance with you,

BEECH, Laura Ann It is with great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of
our beloved Laura on January 25, 2007, born February 27th, 1960 in Victoria.
Laura leaves to grieve her father Geoff (Jeanette), mother Rose, brother
Mark (Marna), niece and nephew Chloe and Austin; numerous aunts, uncles and
cousins; and longtime friend Kelly. She loved to travel especially to
Scotland to share time with her relatives. Laura also loved the theatre and
arts as well as drawing and sketching. She had many different office jobs
but the longest with the Ministry of Health for over 20 years. Everyone
Laura met could see her kind and generous nature and the love for her
family. We'll always Love Laura and Miss her Forever. A celebration of
Laura's life will be held 1:00pm Thursday, February 01, 2007 at the Garden
Chapel at Royal Oak Burial Park. 335870

BENSON, Kevin "The Bing" March 17th, 1970 January 30th, 1997 10 long years
have passed since that dreadful phone call from your brother. No one will
never know how much our lives have changed. There are so many memories and
millions of tears shed. We thank God for the time we had with you, even tho
it was cut short. I still hear your truck in the driveway, the front door

BORROWMAN, Inez Isabelle (nee Edwards) Passed away on December 21, 2006, age
93, at the Menno Hospital in Abbotsford, B.C. She was born on August 20,
1913. Inez is survived by her daughter Gloria (Roderic) Crawford, son Jim
(Mary) Borrowman, sisters Edith Dennard and Jean Sweeney and sister-in-law
Enid Edwards; grandchildren, Shane Crawford, Darren Borrowman and Laurel
Borrowman, and numerous nieces and nephews. Inez was predeceased by her
husband James P. Borrowman, her parents, Clara Edwards and Thomas Edwards,
brothers Harold and Ken Edwards and sister Mary McNeil. Inez always had a
smile for everyone, even up to her death, and wanted to help everybody. We
would like to thank the staff at the Menno Hospital in Abbotsford for their
kind care of Mom for the last 3 years. As per her wishes, a Celebration of
Inez' life will be held on February 3, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Peter's

CUSTANCE, Howard John July 19, 1933 January 26, 2007 Died peacefully after
an extended battle with Mesothelioma (asbestos cancer). Howard was the
youngest of seven children and the only one to be born in a hospital. He
grew up in Ashmont and Edmonton, Alberta and joined the Canadian Armed
Forces while still a teenager, and served his country in Germany and
England. After being honourably released in 1956, he headed west with other
young men to Kitimat, BC, where he went to work for Alcan. He met his wife
to be, Louise, in 1960, and they were married in 1961. 1972 found Howard
heading south to Crofton, BC on Vancouver Island where he went to work for
British Columbia Forest Products. Howard was a member of Chemainus
Pentecostal Church and holidays were spent with housefuls of people that
otherwise had no homes or family to go to. Howard is best remembered by his
laughter and his kind and patient demeanor. He is survived by his son Mark
Custance (Ruth) of Camarillo, California; and his daughter Diane Custance of
Calgary, Alberta. He is also fondly remembered by his grandson Cameron
Custance of Camarillo, California. Howard is predeceased by his brother
Vernon Custance; and sisters Annie Overacker and Bess McCleod. He is
survived by his brother George Custance of Edmonton, Alberta, his sister
Florence Bonifacio of Elk Point, Alberta; and his sister Isabelle Spiess of
Port Coquitlam, BC. A memorial and celebration of life will be held at
Chemainus Pentecostal Church, 9471 Chemainus Road, Chemainus, BC at 7:00
p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2007. Online condolences may be offered at

GRANT, Harold Beverley Born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan on December 4 1919
Harold passed away on January 28, 2007. Predeceased by his wife Elva (1983)
and son Jim (2002), and survived by his four children Barbara (Henry), Ron
(Brenda), Judy (Ralph), Ken (Carol), sister Phyllis, eight grandchildren,
five great grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren, 2 step
grandchildren and his dear friend Elizabeth. At Harold's request there will

HUTCHINGS, William Charles With great sadness, the Hutchings family
announces the passing of Bill Hutchings on Saturday, January 27, 2007 in
Victoria. Born November 4, 1919 in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, Bill was the
eldest son of Will and Ellen Hutchings. Bill is survived by Olive, his
loving wife of 64 years, his sons Bill Jr., David (Nancy), his daughter
Denise (Ed) and 4 siblings, Helen, Irene, Pat, and Don. Also grandchildren
Angela, Michael, Dana, Stephen, Joanna, Lynn and Diana, great grandchildren
Jacob, Anthony and Nicolas. He is predeceased by his son Donald and 8
siblings. Bill started his career in the RCN and served there for 25 years,
retiring in 1965 with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After two years in
the shipyards at VMD, Bill went to the Ship Repair Unit in the Dockyard as a
draughtsman. He finally retired in 1982 to go fishing and traveling. Bill
was a member of the Victoria-Columbia Masonic Lodge, Columbia Royal Arch
Chapter, Acme Council, Cryptic Rite, Western Gate Perceptory, York Cross of
Honour, all three Scottish Rite bodies and a Shriner of Gizeh Temple. He was
also a member of the CPO's association. He was a true and dependable friend,
wonderful husband and father, a devoted mason and an avid fisherman. A
memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 1, at 2pm at ROYAL OAK
FIRST MEMORIAL, 4725 Falaise Drive. No flowers by request, donations may be
made to the charity of one's choice. 335677

KENNAIRD, John Michael Born August 24, 1926 in Victoria, BC passed away
peacefully January 27, 2007 at Nanaimo General Regional Hospital. John is
survived by wife Betty of 53 years, son Keith (London, England), daughters:
Kathryn (Ray), Cochrane, AB, Colleen (Stephen), Saltspring Island, BC,
Barbara (Peter), Drayton Valley, AB, 6 grandchildren, and 3
great-grandchildren. John worked for BC Hydro for 30 years. A celebration of
John's life will be held at the Beach Club, Craig Bay Estates, Northwest Bay
Rd., Nanoose Bay, February 3rd, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. If desired donations may

LANG, Constance (Connie) Passed away on January 25th, 2007. Lovingly

LEVIRS, Marjorie G. May 17, 1905 January 24, 2007 Died peacefully in her
room at Parkwood Court following a very brief illness. Born in Ladner, B.C.
to Gertrude and Walter Lanning, she had a life that spanned more than
two-thirds of the province's official past. Moving to Vancouver in her
youth, she graduated from New Westminster's Columbia College and then U.B.C.
Marge married Franklin Levirs and lived in several interior towns before
settling down in Victoria in 1954. Always physically active, she was a
member of U.B.C's Varsity basketball team, the 1929 national finalists. She
regularly swam 1/2 mile at the Y into her eighties. A woman of remarkable
kindness, optimism and wisdom, Marge continued to deeply influence people
into her second century. She is survived by her daughters Mary Jean Smith
and Ruth Boston (Noel); grandchildren Cindy Cullen, Dan Hinman-Smith, Reesa
MacKinnon, Sarah Smith and Catherine Boston; and great-grandchildren Dallas,
Kelsey, Tahlia, Catriana, Caia and Trevor. Marge was pre-deceased by her
husband Frank, her son-in-law Peter, and her four siblings. The family is
grateful to the staff and residents of Parkwood Court, who helped to make
her last years comfortable ones. An informal gathering/open house will be
held for family and friends on Sunday, February 11 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at
the home of Mary Jean at 2175 Ferndale Road, (477-4058). 335561

RATHGABER, Jean (nee Corry) Jean passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospice
on Thursday, January 25, 2007, after a courageous battle with her illness.
She was surrounded by her three children Keith (Joanne), Lynn (Mike) and
Rod. Jean was born in Victoria on May 19, 1928, and lived her whole life
here. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Rudy and her brother Percy
(Phyllis). She will be lovingly remembered by her children; grandchildren
Kelly (Jason), Tyler (Danielle), Darren, Jordan, Cameron, Alexandra, Justin
and Ngaire; great-grandchildren Riley and Kassidy; sister Shirley (Garry)
and many nieces and nephews, family and friends. Funeral Service will be
held in the Sands Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra Street, Victoria, BC on
Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 12:00 noon, with a reception to follow in the

STEVENS-GUILLE, Cathi Born November 1, 1933 in Calgary, died January 27,
2007 in Victoria. Predeceased by her father Henry Stevens-Guille (1984),
mother Betty Stevens-Guille (1998), son Jimmy Oswald (1962) and brother
Phillip Stevens-Guille (1997). Survived by her sons Rob (Jane), Darrell
(Robin) and Brian; grandchildren Erin, Lauren, Ben, Taylor, Sean, Mitchell
and Gage; brother Michael Stevens-Guille (Gayle) and sister Hester Richer.
Cathi was a Registered Nurse, graduating from the Royal Alexandra Hospital
Edmonton in 1956. She recently attended her 50th nurses reunion and received
her gold cap. Cathi enjoyed her social time with her bridge group and going
to the symphony. Mum loved her family and many special friends. A special
thank you to Dr. David Brook for his kind care and attention, also to the
wonderful staff at the Victoria Hospice, especially to Tracy for her expert
care and gentle support. Memorial Service will be held at Holy Trinity
Anglican Church, 1319 Mills Road, Sidney, BC on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at

WATKINS, Edith Ellen November 11th, 1906 January 24th, 2007 Our dear Mother
passed away peacefully at Beckley Farm Lodge in her 101st year. Mom was born
in Hinckley, Leicestershire, England, and came to Canada in 1931.
Predeceased by her husband Leslie, Mom is survived by her brothers Arthur
and Alfred (Jean) in England and by her daughters Joyce (David), Pam and Dot
(Rolly). Grandchildren Robert (Rose), Bruce (Karen), Diana (Archie), Lynn
(Paul), Rosanne (Matt), Rod (Deb), Heather (AI), Ian, Chris and Ben.
Great-grandchildren Cameron, Michelle, Nick, Meghan, Jennifer, Melissa, Guy,
Brennan, Monique, Brittany, Christina, Jonathan and Peter. Heartfelt thanks
to all the staff of Beckley Farm Lodge for their kindness and compassionate
care over the past four years. A celebration of Mom's life will be held on
Saturday, February 3rd, at 10:00 a.m. at First Memorial Chapel, 4725 Falaise
