ABBOTT _ George K., passed away peacefully on March 21, 2007 at the age of
87. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family; children
Christopher (Carol) Abbott of North Vancouver, Anne (John Morrison) of Stony
Plain, Alberta; grandchildren Michelle, Chris (Naomi) and Sean;
great-grandchildren Noah and Micah; and his special friends who were
particularly close to him. George was predeceased by wife Patricia and
grandson Andrew. George will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew
him. Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of George's
life on April 14, 2007 at 1:30 pm at Parkview Funeral Chapel, 1258 Main St.
Penticton, B.C. with Reverend Callum Jones officiating. The family wishes to
thank Dr. Bruce Nodwell for his exceptional care of George for over 30
years. The family would also like to thank the staff of the Penticton
Hospital and the Kelly Care Centre in Summerland for making George
comfortable and content in his last days. Flowers are gratefully declined.

hours of April 10, 2007, devoted Wife and Mother, she leaves her husband of

BARRY _ MARGARET M. (RITA) It is with profound sadness that we announce the
passing of our dearly beloved mom, grandmother and best friend on Holy
Thursday, April 5th, 2007 at age 95. Predeceased by her husband Russell, she
leaves six children and their families; Yvonne and Joe (J.B.), Maureen
(Kelly and Becky), Jacque and Phil (Stuart and Kristen, Eric and Andrea),
Mary-Rita, Margie and Shaun (Ian, Brendan and Aidan) and Bill and Marilyn
(Wilson and Raina). Rita took great pride in their lives and
accomplishments, and was delighted when her 5 great-grandchildren came into
the world (Connor, Ian, Keghan, Caleb and Jennifer). Mom was truly a West
Coast girl and was most happy when she was near the sea or in her garden.
Her touch was magical and enriched the lives of all endeared to her. Prayers
at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 12th and Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., Friday,
April 13th; both to be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church,
2465 Crown St. (West 10th Ave.) Vancouver, Father Paul Smith, CSsR
celebrant. Special thanks to the doctors and staff of the Respiratory Clinic
and Palliative Care Unit at VGH, her long time doctor Brad Fritz and the
entire staff of Chalmers Lodge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in

BLOCH _ Harry passed away peacefully on his 88th birthday with his beloved

BORSATO _ Corrado Born June 26th, 1918 Monte Belluna Treviso, Italy and
passed away peacefully on April 6th, 2007, Vancouver, BC. Very much loved by
his wife Bruna; son Rudy; daughter-in-law Katrina; friend and cousin
Guerrino; grandchildren Corrado, Emma and Angelo. Corrado left us with many
wonderful memories and stories. We will all dearly miss him. Prayers April

BREIDDAL _ Edwin F. 1918 - 2007 Ed passed away Friday April 6, 2007 at LMH.
He was predeceased by his wife Bess in 2000. He is survived by his children
Dell (Jeanette), Lois (Sandy), Jason (Liane), 7 grandchildren and 2
great-grandchildren. Ed was born in Foam Lake, Sask. Where he lived his
younger years as an avid hockey player with a local league in Sask. He
joined the R.C.A.F. during the Second World War. After returning from the
war he came back to Foam Lake, Sask., where he joined his family in
constructing and developing a family run Ford dealership. In 1955 he moved
to North Vancouver to soon have his wife and children follow. Ed worked with
family members at several occupations until they partnered to build and run
Breiddal Bros. Auto Body in North Van. After many years they sold the
business and he worked until retirement at North Vancouver & Capilano Winter
Clubs where one of his jobs was driving the Zambonie. He was a former Legion
and Order of Eagles member. In his later years he played in dart tournaments
and curled. Ed enjoyed his last four years at Harrison Landing Assisted
Living in Langley, B.C. At Ed's request no formal service will be held. In
lieu of flowers donations to your favorite charity.

CHYCHRUN _ It is with great sadness that the family of Mike Chychrun
announces his passing on April 7, 2007 at the age of 79. Mike passed away
unexpectedly with his wife at his side. Born in Goodeve, Saskatchewan, Mike
is survived by his loving Wife Anne of 53 years, and his 3 children, Linda
(Joe), Glenn, and Sandy (Len). Mike will be deeply missed by sisters Lena
and Sophie and brothers, Matt (Nelda), Joe (Cecile), John (Pat), Larry and
sister-in-law Anne. Mike was predeceased by his father Jacob and mother
Justyna, sisters Nellie, Mary, Olga and Nettie and brother Bill. Mike's 6
grandchildren, whom he loved with all his heart, were his pride and joy -
Derek, Colin, Mandy, Sean, Troy and Andrew will miss him dearly. He will be
lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and countless friends and
neighbours. Mike was a tremendously caring and kind person who loved
spending time with his family and friends, gardening, watching sports on TV,
and was a wonderful cook. Mike came to Vancouver from Saskatchewan in 1955
and worked as a welder for 15 years and went on to build numerous homes in
Greater Vancouver until his retirement in 1987. Mike will be fondly
remembered for his warm smile, gentle demeanour and wonderful sense of
humour and will be sorely missed by all that knew him. Viewing will be held
on Thursday, April 12th at 7:00pm followed by prayers at 7:30pm at Holy
Cross Ukrainian Catholic Church, 13753 - 108th Ave., Surrey, Funeral service
will be held on Friday, April 13th at 12:00pm at St. Matthews RC Parish,
16079 88th Ave. Burial to follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens, 14644 -
72nd Ave., Surrey. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation would be appreciated.

DICKSON _ Mark William, MA, Ph.D. Born February 21, 1964 in Surrey, passed
away unexpectedly and peacefully at Royal Columbian Hospital April 7th, 2007
with family at his side. Mark is survived by his sister Jennifer Dickson
Trefanenko (Steve), niece Taryn and sister Carolyn Atkinson (Ross), nephew
Sean and niece Sarah. Predeceased by his father Bob in 1964 and his mother
Kathy in 1996. Mark was diagnosed with Friedrich's Ataxia as a teenager and
successfully and bravely faced many challenges throughout his life. Mark
completed his BA, MA and Ph.D. in philosophy at UBC. While at UBC Mark
received the Killam Memorial Fellowship Award in 1991 and 1992. Mark was the
current vice-president of the BC Ataxia Society. Mark also enjoyed many
years as a supporter of CO-OP Radio. Mark will be missed by his family and
his friends. Mark's family would like to thank the many people who have
supported Mark throughout the years including Dr. Leo Wong, the staff at
Kroll's Pharmacy, ComCare and Shirley Robinson. Bonne chance - Mark (This

DUCKITT _ Louis Stuart It is with great sadness we announce the passing of
our Dad in Maple Ridge, B.C. on Good Friday, April 6th 2007, born in Nanaimo
B.C. on Christmas Day, December 25th 1926. Predeceased by our Mom, Marion,
on August 3rd 2005, after 52 years of a wonderful marriage, and by our
sister Suzanne August 8th 1967. Sadly missed and always remembered with
loving thoughts by son Phillip (Shirley), daughter Gayle Garneau (Kerry),
his grandchildren Mark, Heather and Jonathan Duckitt and Jessica and Kelsey
Garneau; and great grandson Logan. He enjoyed his life of Husband, Father,
Papa, Great Papa and friend along with his retired school teaching career of
music and academics. His strength and wisdom continued to shine through all
his days of his life. No words can adequately express our sincere thanks to
the wonderful caring "entire" staff at McKenney Creek Hospice, who cared for
Dad and all of us in the most special way imaginable. In lieu of flowers

ELCHUK _ Lucille Ida Marie (nee Voelpel), born April 7, 1928, passed away
peacefully on April 9, 2007. Lucille is survived by her husband Mike, son
Jeff (Debbie), daughter Sandy Dashchuk, brother Harold (Alice), Ken
(Theresa), Norman (Ona), sister Dorothy Kennedy, granddaughters, Ashley,
Alana, Brittany, Brianne, Catherine, step-mother Edna Voelpel, and many
nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. There will be no service by Lucille's

FERGUSON _ William John October 23, 1925 - April 5, 2007 It is with the
greatest sorrow that we share the passing of the patriarch of the Ferguson
Family. Bill touched the lives of so many - beloved husband to Sharel for 57
years, the greatest father ever to John, Sharen, Dawne, Collin and their
spouses. Adored Papa to his twelve grandchildren - Stefani, Ashlie, Taryn,
Conor, Russell, Christie, Alexandra, James, Teresa, Michael, Madeleine, and
brand new arrival Bennnet William Ferguson; also, Papa to
great-grandchildren Cassidy, Jack and Violet and a loyal friend to so very
many. A special thank you to Marcelina, Jana, and Dr. Don Stewart for their
exceptional care. A businessman who was revered for his honesty, Bill was
legendary for his smile and handshake, which he extended to everyone,
whether it was to seal a business deal or to offer a helping hand. A service
in celebration of Bill's life will be held Monday, April 16th at 2pm at The
Unitarian Church of Vancouver at 949 West 49th (at Oak). A reception will
follow at Shaughnessy Golf And Country Club, 4300 Southwest Marine Drive. In

FORD _ Lucille, born June 26, 1917 in Saskatoon, Sask., went to be with the
Lord on Good Friday April 6, 2007, at the age of 89, in Richmond, BC.
Lucille moved to BC where she was a practical nurse and school teacher. She
is predeceased by her parents Frank and Cora Ford, her three brothers Harry,
Pat and Glen. She is survived by her only sister Thelma Andrusko and many
nieces and nephews. Her cheerful smile and strong spirit will be missed by
family and friends alike. Viewing will happen at 10:30 a.m. and graveside
service at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 13th at Forest Lawn Funeral Home,
Royal Oak Ave., Burnaby. The Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m.,
Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Richmond Pentecostal Church, 9300 Westminster
Highway, Richmond. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Union Gospel Mission

FREYLINGER _ Cherry Corabelle "Cora" Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 28,
1920, Cora passed away peacefully at Mission, B.C. on March 30, 2007. She
was predeceased by her parents, Myrtle and Ralph Wright; her husband, Mike,
in 1980 and her grandson, David in 2005. Cora will be lovingly remembered by
her son, Ted (Marlene); her daughters, Darlene (Graham), Sheila (Ron) and
Cheryl (Pat); her grandchildren, Melisaa, Kerenza, Walter, Neil, Jennifer
and Roxanne and one great-grandchild, Mackenzie. For those desiring,
donations made in Cora's memory to the B.C. Cancer Foundation would be most
appreciated. Cora's family wish to express their sincere gratitude to
Pleasantview Care Home and to all the care-givers who gave so much. A

HARRINGTON _ Adoniram Levi, born August 29, 1915, passed away peacefully on
April 1, 2007. He left behind his wife, Margaret; his children, Audrey
(Doug), Cliff, Frank (Kirsty) and Ruth (Gary); his grandchildren, Randi,
Nick, Matt, Angie, Ashleigh, Dean, Ken, Dennis, Devon and Shawn; his
great-grandsons, Anthony, Robbie and Wyatt; his extended family and friends.

the Fraser Health Authority, the Burnaby Hospital Palliative Care Unit and

KERSHAW _ Grace Beryl Barbara was born to David and Elizabeth Kershaw on
October 8, 1921, in Wapella, Saskatchewan. She departed this life into the
presence of the Lord in her home in Burnaby, BC on April 3, 2007. Grace was
one of five children which included four brothers Allan, Clive, Les, and
Lloyd. In her early years she attended Teachers College, then called Normal
School in Regina, Saskatchewan, in 1942-1943. Her first assignment was
teaching in a one room rural school. Teaching became her passion, in the
classroom she was strict, but kind, loved her students, and was reported to
have done a very good job. One of Grace's greater qualities was her faith in
God, a love for people and a genuine desire to serve others. This led her to
the Pentecostal Bible College in Peterborough, Ontario, where she graduated.
>From there she made the decision to be a Teacher-Missionary and for a number
of years served in this capacity in Japan. She will be remembered by her
friends in the number of churches in the Vancouver area, by the many she
gave Christian Literature on the streets, in busses and subway stations,
also by complete strangers to whom she was kind and generous, and by the
wonderful friends she made while living at Kingsway Court in Burnaby. Grace
is predeceased by her father David, and mother Elizabeth, as well as her
brothers Allan, Clive and Les. She is survived by a brother Lloyd in
Orangeville, Ontario, and a number of nephews and nieces living in Alberta,
Ontario, and Quebec. Graveside service will be held at Victory Memorial Park
on King George Hwy in Surrey, on Friday, April 13th at 11:00 AM. A Memorial
Service in a celebration of her life, will be held in the Fellowship Room at
Kingsway Court 5560 Inman Ave., Burnaby, B.C. at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, April
18th, 2007 the public is welcome to both of these services. Glenhaven
Memorial Chapel entrusted with the arrangements, 604-255-5444.

KRENTZ _ RAYMOND GEORGE Born in Bruno, Sask. on May 27, 1934. Dad left us in
Wakaw, Sask. on April 08, 2007 after a long and courageous battle with
cancer. He was a devoted and loving son, husband, father, grandfather,
brother and uncle - family was his life. Our father was a kind and gentle
man and was loved by many. He will be missed more than words can say. A
memorial service will be held in Bruno. Love you forever, Dad.

LEESON _ Muriel (nee Sinclair) passed away April 7th, 2007. Survived by her
loving family, husband Bill, children Cathy (Mike), Jimmy, Lori (Jim),
Andrea (Gord), 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and many relatives and
friends. Muriel resided in Nanaimo, and Grimsby, Ontario. She was an active
advocate for the mentally challenged. Memorial service will be held on
Sunday, April 15th, 2007 at 2:30 p.m., The Arbor Chapel at Valley View

MAGNUSON _ Ronald Grant December 23, 1945 - March 31st, 2007 Grant passed
away peacefully at Squamish Hospital after a lengthy illness. Predeceased by
his loving parents Dan and Muriel. Grant leaves behind his devoted wife and
caregiver Susan and his sons Charles and Thomas, whom he was so proud of.
Grant will be greatly missed by his only sister Gail Prendergast and husband
Al, aunt Edith Kasick and cousins Maureen and Ken. Also cousins Bev, Deborah
and Deb Brinkert of Quesnel. In accordance with Grant's wishes there will no
funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian
Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated. Grant will be in our
hearts and thoughts forever.

McDONALD _ Isobelle "Belle" (nee Wise) born March 5, 1929 in Cranbrook BC
passed away April 2, 2007 in Vancouver BC. Predeceased by husband Earl in
1994 she will be missed by her children Earl Jr. (Maureen), Kim (Stuart);
grandchildren Derek, Carrie; great-grandchildren; sister Iris. Belle's
loving spirit touched all who knew her and she is fondly remembered by her

McNAUGHTON _ Una (Winifred) Patricia Peacefully, surrounded by her loving
family, Una entered into the presence of our Lord on April 9, 2007. Born
March 12, 1932 in Galway, Ireland, she came a long way to Vancouver where
she met and married her beloved husband, Alex. She was a loving mother to
Katie, Hugh (Kathleen), Andrew (Gina) and Nuala. She was predeceased by her
brother Herb and survived by her sister Mary of Las Vegas, by her
sister-in-law Joan of Dalkey, Ireland and by many nieces and nephews in
Canada, Ireland and Australia. Nana would light up whenever she saw her
granddaughters. Lesia, Kyla, Caitlin, and Paige will remember that about
their Nana. Prayers will be offered on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at 6:30 pm
at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 8842 119th Street, Delta, BC. Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 13, 2007 at 11:00
am. Special thanks to the gifted nurses and staff at Queen's Park Hospice
who offered such loving and caring support to mom in her last days. In lieu

MORRISON _ Dr. Stanley Roy passed away at the age of 80 years on March 31,
2007 in Woodland, California, after a brief illness. Roy was born in
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on August 24, 1926. Roy is survived by his wife of
57 years, Phyllis Morrison of Vacaville, CA; daughters Catherine (Cathy)
Morrison-Paul of Woodland, CA, Deborah (Debbie) Walinsky of West Lin, OR and
Barbara Schwarz of Vacaville, CA; 2 grandchildren, Sarah Walinsky, 21 of
West Lin, OR and Daniel (Danny) Walinsky, 17 of West Lin, OR. Roy attended
the University of British Columbia and received his BS and MS, as well as a
PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. Roy was employed by Honeywell
Research Center, Stanford Research Institute and finally Simon Fraser
University as a Physics Professor and Research Director where he retired in
1992. Dr. S.R. (Roy) Morrison was a world-renown Physicist. He wrote three
textbooks on the Physics of Surfaces which were translated into many
languages. He also had more than 80 other publications. His honors include
two NASA Certificates of Merit for research on improved paint for use on
satellites. He was the founder and directors of the Simon Fraser University
Energy Research Institute. Roy enjoyed chess, golf, tennis, bowling, any
game and reading. Memorial Services were held on April 1st, 2007 at Epiphany
Episcopal Church in Vacaville, CA. Ashes are to be scattered at Twain Harle

NICHOL _ Bryan (Barney) Henry June 22, 1949 - March 26, 2007 Bryan (Barney)
Henry Nichol unexpectedly departed in peace in the early morning March 26,
2007. He is the beloved father of Eric Nichol, husband of Louise Kemphffer,
both of Montreal and brother to Ross and Hartley Nichol of Ontario. A
memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, April 12th at St. David
of Wales Church, 2475 Franklin St. East, Vancouver. A memorial celeration of
his life shall take place following at 7:00 p.m at the Waldorf Hotel, 1489
Hastings St., East. All wishing to pay their respects are invited to attend.

NICOLETTI _ Karla Marie. It is with great sorrow that we announce that Karla
lost her battle with addiction and mental illness on March 30, 2007, in
Surrey, BC. She leaves to mourn her beautiful daughter, Ella; her brother,
Gord (Wendy); sisters, Corinne (David) and Joanne. She will be remembered as
being a wonderful aunt to Sandra, Michael, Pamela, Katie, Peter, Jennifer,
Kristy, Derek and Kyle. Karla is predeceased by her father, Raymond (1993);
mother, Eileen (2006) and brother, Larry (2000). Karla was born in Regina on
July 8, 1961, the youngest of 5 children. She was an energetic and funny
girl who loved spending time with her siblings. She started diving
competitively at the age of 6 and won 3 Canadian age group championships.
She will be remembered for her contagious laugh and good sense of humour. In

POHL _ Christa Gertrud passed away on March 31, 2007 at the age of 75 years.

Forever loved and remembered by his wife of 68 years Ida; daughters Darlene

SCHALLER _ Anna Eliesabeth, aged 81 passed away April 4 2007 after a long
and courageous battle with cancer. Anna will be deeply missed by her 6

SHERRARD _ Willis. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
Willis on April 3, 2007 at age 67 after a dignified and courageous battle
with cancer. Willis was born in Campbellton, NB on May 18, 1939. He is
predeceased by his mother Rachel, father Elmer and much beloved son Todd.
Will was much loved, cherished and will be forever missed by his wife
Sandra. Willis was stepfather to Andrew and Ian, father of Sandra (Rod),
grandsons Conor and Evan, daughter-in-Law Bia (Todd) and grandson Nathan. He
was a much beloved brother of Shirley (Roland), also left to mourn are
nephews and relatives and many friends. Willis was a wonderful man, easy in
manner, with a great sense of humour and always willing to give a helping
hand. He enjoyed a successful career for many years as a Risk Consultant for
Marsh Canada. Will loved to travel and has played many of the great golf
courses of the world. He will be missed by his Vancouver Golfing Buddies who
loved to take his money!!! We will forever miss this honourable gentleman,
always full of life and charm and who was loved for his kind and generous
ways. He will remain strong and tall in the memory of all who knew him.
Special thanks and appreciation go to the enormous support (you know who you
are) who has helped the family through this difficult time. In lieu of

SIMMONS _ Marguerite passed away peacefully, in the arms of her family, on
April 5, 2007 at the age of 85 years. She was predeceased by her husband
Ivan, brother Ernie, sister Jean. Marguerite is survived by her cousin Jean
of Calgary, AB, nieces and nephews Carol, Larry, Daniel, Diana, Cheryl,
Beverley; many great-nieces and nephews; sister-in-law and dearest friend
Willi, and many other relatives and friends. Marguerite will be remembered
as an artist, philosopher, mentor and friend. Memorial service will be held

STARK _ Harold Robert passed away peacefully, with his family at his side,
at Richmond Hospital of pneumonia at the age of 80 years. Harold known as
"Red" was a long time resident of Richmond since 1956, who worked for
Canadian (the Pacific) Airlines for 39 years. He is survived by his wife of
53 years, Maria Stark, son Robert (partner Michele) and daughters Kathy
(partner Tim), Denise and Mia (partner Sharon) and by his brother Don Stark
of Alberta and family. He also leaves granddaughters Jennifer, Carla
(partner Dave), Amy, Kimberly and Amanda, grandsons Matthew, Evan and
Graeme, great-granddaughters Sara, Kassandra and Emily and great-grandsons
Derek and Noah. Thanks to the staff that cared for him during his brief stay
at Richmond Hospital especially nurse Jemima. Funeral Services will be held
on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Paul's Catholic Church,
8251 St. Alban's Road, Richmond, B.C. A reception will follow at the

STENSRUD _ Lorne Gerald passed away at home in Salmon Arm, BC, on April 7,
2007. Born in Meacham, SK on September 29, 1930, Lorne was a horseman for 25
years, spending countless hours at the Cloverdale Racetrack. He was a proud
member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #6. Lorne leaves behind
daughters, Lee-Ann of Salmon Arm, Lorelei of Surrey, Pam (Randy) Wilson and
Candace (Rod) Bligh, both of Saskatchewan; ten grandchildren; one
great-grandson; and three siblings. A service will be held at the Cloverdale

WEBLEY _ Richard (Dick) passed away on Tuesday, March 27th, 2007 at the age
of 79. Survived by his loving wife, Sheila; daughter, Nancy (Dan);
grandchildren Colton and Kirby, brother and sisters in England, as well as
other relatives and friends. Dick was a Life Member of the Canadian Power
and Sail Squadron, and an automotive teacher at Killarney School, Vancouver.
Dick received wonderful care from all the staff at Delta View, special

April 14th, at 2:00 p.m. at Fraser Heights Funeral Home, 14835 Fraser

YEE _ Annie passed away unexpectedly in Whatcom County, USA, on April 5,
2007 at the age of 78 years. She is survived by Charles Bloomfield, her
daughters: Connie (David) Wong, Rachael (George) Vaivaka, Loma, Annie's
sons: Daniel (Jane) Washington, and Lin Ho (Maria) Yee, niece Emma (Walter)
Low, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, also extended family and
friends all of whom will miss her dearly. Annie was born on April 8, 1928 in
Navesi, Savusavu, Fijji Island, and emigrated to Canada in 1975. Funeral
