BRAEM-GLADWIN VANCOUVER ... Stievey Braem-Gladwin died April 16, 2007 after
a courageous and valiant battle with cancer. Stievey was born June 5, 1949
at St. Paul's in Vancouver to Eve and Bob Braem. She grew up and went to
school in Richmond where she attended McRoberts and Steveston High and was
enthusiastically active in basketball, volleyball and baseball. She
graduated in 1967 and worked as an office worker at Western Foods for a
short time until she moved to Montreal. In 1979 she moved to Kelowna where
she worked at Kelowna Builders Supply. A lively, attractive and popular
young woman, Stievey was a valued and appreciated employee who quickly
developed friendships, many of which would become life-long relationships.
One such friend was a drummer named George Hamilton who she met in 1971.
They became a couple and moved back to Vancouver in 1973. George continued
to play with various bands while Stievey worked as a waitress first at Oil
Can Harry's and then at Jerry's Cove. George and Stievey were married in
1974 and although they parted in 1978, have maintained a lifelong
friendship. She began driving bus for B.C. Transit in June, 1975 where she
met Richard Gladwin, the man who was to become her soul-mate for the
remainder of her life. Their romance began in 1983, the result of them
sharing the solving of crossword puzzles left at the washroom at Ladner
Exchange. Together they bought and restored two homes in Vancouver until
they built their dream home in Surrey in 1995. Stievey's flair for
decorating was apparent in her choice of warm and vibrant colors, the
comfortable and inviting ambience of the home that was to become the domain
of many parties usually based on her accomplished culinary skills. Their
yard became a show-piece built on their mutual creativity and Stievey's love
for gardening. Besides the many friends that visited the Gladwin home, were
their two "kids": shih-tzu's Jessie-Jane and Seymour. Besides their active
work and home life, Stievey and Richard enjoyed travelling, fishing and
camping. Stievey also worked tirelessly for Aids, Shooting Stars and Starry
Nights. Besides her husband Richard, Stievey is survived by her Mother Eve;
brothers Rob (Vera) Braem; Terry (Lorna) Hannett as well as nieces and
nephews. Her body has been contributed to the University of British Columbia
for the advancement of medicine through anatomical study. In lieu of
flowers, friends may wish to contribute to the Anatomical Sciences Research
Endowment Fund or the charity of their choice. The next-of-kin are notified
of donations, and receipts are sent to donors for income tax purposes. A
celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 5, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the
Nikkei Place, Sperling and Kingsway, South Burnaby.

Langley, and Sidney, then continued his education in Alberta (Canadian Union
College), Washington (Walla Walla College, where he met and married Janet),
and California (Loma Linda University). Upon completing his Doctor of Dental
Science in 1969, Ron and Janet returned to Langley, where Ron established

his hands, his primary passions included the Lord and his family. He
particularly loved sharing church-related service and the adventures of
travel, the outdoors (riding motorcycles off-road, RV'ing, canoeing, hiking,
exploring the ocean, and participating in water sports), photography, music

he traveled, relaxed and visited family. In January 2007, while visiting
Thailand, he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. During a brief,

HEUSER _ Clinton Pearce April 18, 2007, died at home in Tsawwassen, BC. Born
April 3, 1924 to Roscoe A and Susan Heuser in Francis, Saskatchewan. Younger
brother to Roscoe Charles. Married Enid Daphne McBride in 1953 and had 5
children, Shaun (Monica), Vivien (Dave), Byron (Natalie), Rodney and Diane
(Ray). His grandchildren are Brandon, Paige, Parker, Archie, Ciara, Dana and
Justin. Clint was calm and courageous always. He was dearly loved by not
only his many patients, devoted family and friends, but all who dealt with
him in any capacity. He served as President of the Chiropractic Association.
Having a special rapport with elderly patients, he gave extra time to them
when they simply needed to talk. His home was his joy, having delivered two
of his babies there. He belonged to Kiwanis International for many years.
Their Glee club often practiced at the house, with the five children being
serenaded to sleep upstairs. Clint had an inquiring mind, appreciated all
the arts and studied the sciences, receiving his B.Sc. at the U. of Sask.
following his service in the Canadian Army and Air Force. A natural athlete,
he was a lightweight wrestling champion at university, coached and played
hockey until an old-timer, curled competitively, ice and ballroom danced
(learning the quickstep at 81). He was a stalwart friend and a fierce
competitor. He was hard working and scrupulously honest, teaching family to
strive for excellence in all endeavours. This was what he demanded of
himself. Clint never allowed fear to dampen his desire to conquer; whether
it was climbing a mountain, confronting a burglar or facing disease. Flowers
are graciously declined, but prayers, kind thoughts and communications are
gratefully accepted. A gathering in his honour will be held on May 4, 2007,
2-4 pm at Beach Grove Golf Course, 5946 12 Avenue, Tsawwassen, BC. Delta
