EHRHARDT STOTT _ Grace on May 15th, 2007 slipped away to join her Lord. With
a great sense of loss her family, both immediate and extended, salute her
life of giving to others. Grace was born in Burdett, Alberta on January 10,
1918. While attending seminary she met her "rock" John Ehrhardt whom she
married in 1941. Together they served as a Clergy team in Alberta until 1953
and then in the Greater Vancouver area for some further 25 years. During
this time she raised her two children, Ruth and David, but also took the
time to spread her love and caring to others. Over the years her children
lost track of the number of individuals who made a point to tell them how
Grace and John had made a difference in their life. After sharing 15 years
of retirement together John passed away in 1995. Several years later Grace
found new joy in her marriage with Robert Stott, a long-time family friend.

HOLOWKO _ Hanna-Halyna Hanna-Halyna Holowko (nee Homenko) was born in
Kryworiza, Ukraine on March 28, 1923, and sadly passed away on Saturday, May
12, 2007, at the age of 84 years. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Alex,
on September 17, 2006. During World War II, Halyna and her family lived in
Germany. In 1949, she made the brave trip alone across the Atlantic, first
stopping in Montreal to see if Canada would be a suitable place for her
extended family. She found that life in Canada had more to offer than she
had ever imagined and eagerly awaited the arrival of her mother, father, two
brothers, and two sisters. In 1950, she settled in Winnipeg, where she
married Alex Holowko and raised two sons, George and Alex. She worked for
many years as a dedicated nurse at Misericordia Hospital where she welcomed
many babies into the world in the maternity ward. She continued her loving
care as a nurse by dedicating her life to her parents in their later years.

JONES _ Sheila Jane Born September 29, 1923. Passed May 03, 2007, Vancouver
BC. Sheila lived her first years in a Chinook Cove soldiers settlement, then
grew up in Vancouver where she attended University Hill and then John
Oliver. There, her esteemed teacher Eric Kelly called her "one of the finest
types of young women students it has been my pleasure to have in my
classes...held in high regard by all with whom she worked..displaying fine
ability, good sportsmanship and marked qualities of leadership." Sheila
displayed these qualities throughout her life, one devoted to family, social
responsibility and idealism. Sheila was always proud of her family father
Frank Russell Carlisle, oldest son of John Howe Carlisle (longest serving
Fire Chief in Vancouver history); mother Ethel (of Manchester, GB, a
talented classical singer) and older brother Donald (Professor of Geology,
UCLA). Upon graduating UBC with her Masters in Social Work (1949),
specializing in social group work, she embarked on her career. Working at
Alexander House, she met Frederick Jones and the two were married on
September 1, 1951. Not long after, Fred accepted the position of Recreation
Director at the Civic Centre in Prince Rupert. The young couple enjoyed
their years in the north, establishing their careers, making life-long
friendships, and on their holidays, driving and camping around BC and
Alberta in their beloved Morris Minor. Sheila worked those years for Social
Welfare, and they fostered several children, in particular Georgia (Dixon)
Blake. Moving back to Vancouver, Sheila and Fred began their family in 1961
with daughter Cynthia Lynne, and son Darren Carlisle in 1963. They settled
on Baker Drive in Coquitlam and while Fred joined the National Parole
Service, Sheila became a full-time mother, and an active one at that,
serving as daycare president, bowling in a league and playing bridge. While
a serious medical problem slowed her for a while, Sheila continued to focus
her creative energies on gardening, sewing and other passions. She and Fred
shared their love of activity and the outdoors with their children, going
camping every summer (favorite spots were Texada Island, Nicola Lake- often
with Freds sister Mary and family, and Sechelt- to stay with John and Audrey
Jones), cycling, swimming, canoeing and hiking (with their faithful black
lab "Boots"). Sheila returned to work in 1972 and finished her career
working at Valleyview Hospital, retiring in 1985. Fred had already retired
from Douglas College, so the two took trips in their camper van with best
friends Don and Marie Outram. They also began to design their dream home in
Halfmoon Bay on the Sunshine Coast, which they moved into in 1991, enjoying
the fruits of a lifetime of hard work, hosting family and friends, creating
the gardens, and taking occasional trips to the city for the opera or other
events. Unfortunately, Fred's health, always a challenge, grew worse, and he
passed April 24, 1998, so Sheila came to live with daughter Cindy in
Vancouver. Despite the arthritis that made her mobility difficult, for
several years Sheila was able to travel Los Angeles, Hawaii, Alaska and
other places, as well as Nanaimo to visit friend Marie. The cruel
progression of the Alzheimer's she had been diagnosed with earlier made the
move to a safer environment a necessity, so Sheila moved to Three Links Care
Centre's Rebekkah Unit, where she received an exceptional level of care and
understanding. Sheila passed away there in peace, May 3, 2007, after a brief
hospitalization. Her son and daughter are grateful for the support of the
nurses, care aides and other staff at Three Links, the doctors at Burnaby
Hospital, and the friends and family who have shown their love through
cards, phone calls and more. And thank-you, mom, for everything. We miss
you. Love, Cindy and Darren.

LABINE _ Donald Arthur 1946 - 2007 It is with profound sadness that the
family of Donald Arthur Labine announces his sudden passing on Tuesday, May
15 2007 while on a motorcycle trip with his brother and close friends.
Beloved husband of Mary-Anne; father of Paul and Lisa (Dave) Morroz; proud
grandfather of Matthew and Joel. Born to Florence (Broughton) and Leonard
Labine at McKenzie Island, Ontario on June 24, 1946. Don joined the Labine
family with an older sister Rae and brother Ralph and later followed by
brothers Gerald and Stephen and sister Theresa. He was predeceased by his
parents and his brother Stephen. Growing up in northern Ontario, he
developed a love of the outdoors and family camaraderie. He was an
accomplished professional engineer with a Bachelors degree in mechanical
engineering from Lakehead University and maintained the highest level of
integrity in his job no matter where he worked. Employed by Sandwell at the
time of his death, he had traveled Canada and other parts of the world
working as a Senior Project Engineer in their Power Engineering division.
Don was a kindhearted, strong man with a quiet confidence and his own unique
sense of humor appreciated by all who knew him. Woodworking was one of his
passions and across Canada, many family and friends have one of his
wonderful handmade wooden projects. A capable do-it-yourselfer, he recently
was helping Paul refit his sailboat, had helped Lisa and Dave with the
construction of their Ottawa home, and built a wonderful backyard pergola
for his wife. His sincere interest in and respect of others made him a
pleasure to work and travel with. Recent travels included annual motorcycle
trips in Canada and the United States, cruising to Alaska, Disney World with
the grandchildren, Spain and China with work, and Mexico with his wife.
Don's greatest accomplishments were his family, friends, relatives and the
many relationships he developed over the course of his happy life and
successful career. All who know him will remember him fondly and miss him
enormously. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at the Maple Ridge
Funeral Parlor, 11969 216th Street in Maple Ridge, B.C. at 11:00 am with
viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 am with a reception afterwards at the same

at the age of 23. Andres was born in Vancouver March 26, 1984 to Carlos
Parra of Burnaby and Marcela Shimizu of Vancouver. Andres graduated from
Killarney High School. He received a scholarship for the Gifted Program at
Arts Umbrella on Vancouver's Granville Island. Andres' own art was in the
oeuvre of musical abstractionism and a show of his work was held on February
4, 2005 at Gallerie Je Reviens in Westport, Connecticut, an event that was
of immense pride to him. The gallery owners called the show "monumental,"
and Andres' work "brilliant." Among his favourite artists were surrealists
Rene Magritte, Joan Miro, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Willem de Kooning,
Damian Hurst and Roberto Matta. It was while discussing these artists that
his enthusiasm became infectious, his big brown eyes flashing and hands
waving as he endeavoured to explain what their work meant to him. Andres
loved sitting up late into the night debating art, literature, poetry,
philosophy and religion as his insatiable curiosity about life struggled to
come to grips with the world about him and his place in it. Andres is
survived by his father and mother, his step-mother and step-father, Ana and

WAYGOOD _ Adoree Magdalene Woolf Lebrooy October 23, 1918 - May 10, 2007
Adoree passed away peacefully at Kopernik Lodge in Vancouver on the evening
of May 10, 2007 from complications due to Alzheimers. She always missed her
husband, Roy, who predeceased her on April 8, 2001. Adoree was born in
Baddeck, Nova Scotia on October 23, 1918 when her father was working on a
patent with Alexander Graham Bell who mentioned her birth in his diary.
Adoree became a nurse and served in London, England as a Captain Matron
during the blitz. In 1950 she married Dr. Ernest Roy Waygood (FRSC) and with
him over the years welcomed many Botany graduate students and young

here that she was able to indulge in her love of horses. In 1963, Adoree
returned to McGill University to obtain a Master of Library Science degree.
She then became a high school librarian first at Churchill High School in
Winnipeg, then at Dakota Collegiate in St. Vital and finally as divisional
librarian for Seine River School District. Retirement took Adoree and Roy to
Chilliwack, White Rock, New Westminster and Vancouver. She always had a
faithful cocker spaniel at her side - Woofy, Ruffie, and finally Jessie.
Adoree was always known for her energy and spunk. She loved her various
dolls houses especially her one in France. Nothing was too difficult for her
and she amazed many people with the way in which she coped despite her
ever-increasing Alzheimer's even continuing to speak French while in
Kopernik Lodge. Adoree is survived by her only daughter, Pamela (Robert
Jacques) of Wrigley, Northwest Territories. She is also survived by her
sisters-in-law, Enid Lebrooy of Vancouver, Phyllis Lebrooy of Kelowna and

mark the passing of Ronald Wood, beloved husband, father and grandfather.
Ron passed away at home with his family at his bedside, at the age of 95, to
the strains of Strauss' "Arabella". Having lived a truly fulfilled life, Ron
will be forever cherished by Barbara, his wife of 62 years; daughter Marsali
and son-in-law David; and grandchildren Brittany and Logan. Born in
Broadview, Saskatchewan, Ron moved to Vancouver in 1933. Ron was a loyal

that he met Barbara, the love of his life. During WWII, Ron proudly served
six years in the RCAF as Flight Sergeant and Bandsman, 111 Squadron,
stationed at numerous air bases in Canada and England. Ron had an enduring
love of music and, for decades, tuned in the Metropolitan Opera radio
broadcast from New York City every Saturday afternoon. Active well into
their senior years, Ron and Barbara were longtime members of Jericho Tennis
Club. The family wishes to acknowledge club members Barry and Nancy Stewart
for their abiding friendship to Ron and Barbara and for their many
kindnesses, especially in recent years. Special friends, Joan Main, Helen
Carruthers, Lydia Klassen and Margo Leahy were most dear to Ron. The family
also extends special thanks to Dr. Patricia Anderson, of White Rock, for her
expertise, humour and understanding in supporting our family in providing
care at home to both Ron and Barbara. At Ron's request, there will be no
