He attended the RCAF training school and served in the forces from 1939-1945
as an Aero Engine Mechanic. He was stationed overseas with the 423 RCAF
Squadron in Louchern, Ireland. It was here Bill developed a taste for
Guiness! After returning home, he became a lifelong member (60 years) of the

care facilities and he was well known for organizing the annual golf

He worked for Mills Steel from 1957 until 1973. In 1973 he started his own
company, Richform Construction Supply where he worked until his retirement
in 1986. Bill loved fishing as a young man but as he aged golf became his
passion. He spent his later years lovingly caring for his daughter Amber and
practicing or playing golf everyday. His fondest memories include playing
golf at Langara with his good friend Oliver. He also loved dogs and he could
often be seen walking "Cambie", his faithful companion, around Hillcrest
Park. A big thank you to all the staff at the VGH Radiology and Urology
Dept. Bill will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. As requested
no flowers please, donations can be made to the Mel Zajac Foundation in
