ABERCROMBIE Robin Joseph December 11, 1929 - August 10, 2007 Died peacefully
in Lions Gate Hospital on August 10, 2007, with his wife and son at his
side. Robin is survived by his devoted wife Beverley and his adoring
grandchildren Sam. Josh, Sean, Elisa, Jill, Sarah and Ben, who will miss
their "Poppa" very much. He will also be greatly missed by his three sons
Michael, Peter and Richard and three daughters-in-law: Lori, Susan and
Christine. Robin, the second son of William and Phyllis Abercrombie, (both
deceased), is also survived by his beloved younger sister Elizabeth Clark
and her husband Nigel, and his great companion and older brother Evan
Abercrombie. His nieces and nephews will miss Robin's insightful counsel,
his friendship and laughter, particularly during happy times spent at
Robert's Creek. Growing up in Vancouver, Robin graduated from Lord Byng High
School and the University of British Columbia. He married Beverley MacKay in
1954 and they traveled to Calgary, Alberta, in 1957 where Robin found a
career in the oil and gas industry. While in Alberta, Robin's profession as
an economist culminated in his serving as Senior Vice-President of Nova
Corporation and the appointment to several corporate boards including
Petro-Canada and The National Bank of Canada. Robin's devotion to his wife
and sons, his passionate support of all his sons' endeavours (especially
those involving basketball) set benchmarks for his family, which will not be
forgotten. He found great joy in music and was a versatile and talented
musician; from classical violin training in his youth to experimenting with
several instruments including accordion, guitar and mandolin. His singing
and guitar playing were an integral part of family campfires and gatherings
with friends. Robin will be remembered for his gregarious nature and his
deep interest in people. Early days on the west coast fishing boats led to
an enduring love of the ocean. He enjoyed two powerboats that he utilized
for fishing and pleasure. In later life Robin's home on the ocean at
Robert's Creek allowed him to enjoy the sea until his final days. All who
desire to join Robin's family in celebrating his life and memory are invited
to Christ Church Cathedral, 690 Burrard Street, Vancouver, on August 23,
2007 at 2:00pm. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in
Robin's name can be made to The North Shore Stroke Recovery Centre, 225 East
2nd Street, North Vancouver, B.C. V7L 1C4, where his weekly attendance gave
him much support and an opportunity for Robin to continue his life long
delight in people.

PETERS Alyx WhitneyOn Monday, August 13th, 2007 Alyx Whitney Peters
peacefully passed away. She will be very sadly missed by her father Merle;
stepmother Dot; her husband Dan; their 3 children Curtis, Emily and Jolene;
also the many many friends she has amassed in her too short life. She has
made a very lasting impression on everyone that knew her. If you didn't know
how to laugh before, she would show you how and certain, she'll have the
angels laughing too. Her favourite place to be was in the kitchen cooking
for her family and anybody else she could feed. It has been an absolute joy
and honour to have been a part of her life. The other important part of her
life was the Branch # 6 Legion in Cloverdale where she more than just
worked. She cared as much almost for her co-workers and patrons as her
family. This dedicated lady's life will be celebrated and honoured at 1:00
pm on Saturday, August 18 at Branch #6 Legion, 17567 57th Avenue,
Cloverdale, BC and as Alyx would say, "Come as you are, be yourself and
