ARMSTRONG nee "Heidebrecht "Dorothy "Dot" late of Chilliwack, BC passed away
on April 27, 2008 at the age of 85 at Eden Care Home. She is survived by son
David, grandsons; Jeffery, Bradley, Clayton and Benjamin. Brothers; Leonard
(Marguerite), Harold (Josie), Allan, Sisters; Gladys (Dick), Ruby (Larry),
and brother Bud (Diana) as well as many nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by her husband William and son Bruce. Dorothy was involved with
the Cultus Lake OAPA. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2008
at 2:00 pm at Henderson's Funeral Home, 34547 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC.

Brian Fredrik Borhaven September 08, 1960 - May 01, 1988 When family ties

BROWN Dorothy Jane (Dolly) nee Lane January 18, 1921 - April 26, 2008 Born
Nottingham, England. Came to Canada (Edmonton) in 1928 with parents Jane and
Bert Lane, sisters Jean and Beryl. Her sister Colleen was born in Edmonton.
Dolly was predeceased by husband Allan (Al) February 20, 2004. Dolly is
survived by her loving family; Janyce Sutton (Glenn) from Alberta, Alane
Overacker, Allan (Jackie) Brown from Richmond, Carol (Robert) Vincent from
Kamloops, Jennifer (Jamie) Morgan from Surrey, grandchildren, Debbie,
Bonnie, Darren (Tina), Nikki (Mike), Allan Jr. Jr., Alyssa, Adam, Nicole and
Tessa; great-grandchildren, Alec, Dayton, Bay-Lee, Mathew, Hayley and
Gregory in Alberta; and special longtime school friends, Eileen Wright and
Myra Innes in Edmonton. Heartfelt thanks to Dolly's doctor, Dr. Sharon Dodd
and ICU nurse Sheila at Richmond General Hospital for her loving care. We'll
miss our happy Christmas Eves and Christmas Day get-togethers and Sunday
dinners. You will be forever in our hearts and sadly missed. A Celebration
of Dolly's life will be held Monday, May 5, 2008 at Richmond Funeral Home
and Reception Centre, 8420 Cambie Rd., Richmond, BC at 11:00 am with

Cyre - Vergult Baby Mason passed peacefully in his mother's arms at
Children's Hospital on Friday, April 25th, 2008 at the age of 4 days. Mason
is survived by his loving parents, Nicolas Vergult and Shannon Cyre, many

DYCK Marian Louise Passed away peacefully on April 24, 2008. She is
predeceased by her parents, Ed and Helen and her nephew Jason. Marian is
lovingly survived by her sister, Julie, extended family and friends. She was
a long-time employee of MTU Maintenance Canada. A Celebration of Life will
take place on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Richmond Funeral Home,
8420 Cambie Rd., Richmond, BC. A special thanks to her friends and

EASON YOLANDA MARIA August 15, 1916 - April 26, 2008 Died peacefully at her
own home in Penticton. Yolanda (nee Maddaloni) was born and raised in
Revelstoke. She was the last surviving member of her 5 siblings. Upon
retiring, Yolanda moved to Penticton from Vancouver in 1982. She is survived
by her children, Raymond (Judy), Laurel Hill (Gordon); three grandchildren,
David (Andrea), Donna (Benj) and Randy Hill; as well as 3
great-grandchildren. Yolanda loved playing the piano and we all enjoyed her
music. She always had a smile for everyone and liked to tell stories of the
good old days. The family would like to give special thanks to her
caregivers, Donalda and Olive, for all their love and friendship. Also, we
would like to thank the Interior Health support workers for their kindness
and attention in the last few years. A Celebration of Yolanda's Life will be
held at her home (16-321 Yorkton. Ave., Penticton) Friday, May 2, 2 - 4 p.m.

ELLIS Marion Catherine (nee Baxter) April 5th, 1921 - April 27, 2008 With
family at her side it is with great sadness that we announce the death of
our Mother. A loving mom of nine children, Jamie (Duncan), Lynn, Robin, Kim
(Sue), Wayne, Barry (Deanne), Richard (Grace) and daughter-in-law Michelle,
17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Mom is pre-deceased by her
husbands William Forbes (1950) and Hamilton Ellis (1996) and sons Gordon
Ellis (2006) and Bill Forbes (2006). Mom was born in Vancouver and raised in
North Vancouver. The oldest of 5 children mom is survived by Rita, Jim.
Patricia and Jack and a friend of over 80 years, Yvonne Morris. Mom's life
was filled with family and friends in Sherbrooke (Edmonton), Nanoose
(Vancouver Island) and most recently Vancouver. Mom was a CWL member and a
dedicated community volunteer including work with the downtown Eastside St.
Paul's Mission. Mom will be remembered always for her delicious meals,
wonderful pies, fashion sense and quiet manner. Mom handled whatever life
presented her with strength and grace. Her memory will continue to be the
deep bond that holds us together. A Funeral Service will be held at Our Lady
of Perpetual Help Catholic Church , 2465 Crown St, Vancouver, B.C. on
Thursday, May 1, 2008 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers

ENGLISH DOROTHY MARTHA (nee Boulton) October 15, 1918 - April 8, 2008 Passed
away peacefully on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 in Langley at the age of 89.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Robert (1994) and brother Albert. She
is deeply missed by her loving family - daughter Donna (Terry) Pritchard,
son Glen and 5 grandchildren. The family wish to thank the management and
staff at Langley Gardens Care Facility for the excellent care provided to
Dorothy. A Memorial Tea will be held May 3, 2008 at 11:00am at Henderson's

ESPIE Willimaina Kelt McLaren Born December 21, 1922 in Glasgow, Scotland
passed away suddenly in the wee hours of April 23, 2008. Predeceased by
granddaughter Sarah. Left to mourn are sons Daniel and John, many nieces and
nephews, grandkids and great-grandkids. Service to be held at the Salvation
Army - 325 6th Street, New Westminster on May 16, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Captain
David McPherson officiating. Deeply loved and sadly missed.

EVANS Esther Ela Owen (nee Bixby) Passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27
in Montreal, Quebec just shy of her 95th birthday. Predeceased by her
beloved Peter, she leaves behind her four children, Michael of Squamish, BC;
Philip (Cathie) of Telluride, CO; Tony of County Sligo, Ireland and Pamela
(David Law) of Hudson, Quebec as well as her nephew Christopher (Susan)
Bixby of Calgary, Alberta. Mourning the passing of their dear Gar are her
grandchildren Lisa (Sebastian) Brennan, Matthew (Caroline) Evans, Timothy
Owen Evans, Megan (Darcy) Cramb, and Alexa Law as well as six
great-grandchildren. The family would like to deeply thank the wonderful
staff at Westmount One for the loving care they provided our mum. At her
request a private service will be held. In honor of their devotion to Mum
over her many years in Hudson, the family asks that donations be made to
Hudson Nova (VON).

GILL Gurcharn (Charno) April 22, 1936 - April 25, 2008 If love could have
saved you, you would have lived forever. We are deeply saddened by the
sudden passing of our beloved Charno on Friday, April 25th, 2008. Her
amazing strength and loving nature was always evident throughout her life in
her various roles as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter,
sister, cousin, aunt and friend. She was predeceased by her husband, Hakim
Gill (1982). Also predeceased by her parents, Jaswant Singh and Sham Kaur
Berar, of Lake Cowichan, BC. Charno was born on April 22, 1936 in Duncan,
BC. She is survived by her cherished four children; Gurmeet (Ron Sengara),
Cindy, Surinder (Nick Mahal), and Rajpaul, and "Mama" to four treasured
grandchildren; Michael, Stephanie, Tage, and Jacob. Charno will also be
lovingly remembered by her six siblings; Abtar Berar, Sodi Berar, Vic Berar,
Susie Sandhu, Curly Berar, and Sharon Niles, their respective families and
sister-in-law Nasib Kaur Sidhu and her family. Charno will be greatly missed
by her many extended family members and countless friends whose lives she
touched. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.
at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC., followed
by a service at the Nanaksar Gurdwara Gursikh Temple, 18691 Westminster

HEISE Willy Passed away suddenly at the age of 74 on April 15, 2008 at
Richmond Hospital. He was born on October 2, 1933 in Pokarben, Germany. He
was predeceased by his parents, Wanda and August Heise. Willy is survived by
his loving family, wife Ruth; his son Bernard and wife Michelle and
granddaughters Lola and Jana; his daughter Ingrid and husband Richard and
grandsons Christien and Nicholas. His brothers: Benno and wife Herta, Dieter
and wife Betty, Lothar and wife Joyce. His sister-in-law Edeltraud and
husband Wally, his brother-in-law Manfred and wife Brigita. Many nieces and
nephews. His aunt Herta Heise, and Hulda Rzepio. Many cousins in Canada and
Germany. Willy will be sadly, missed by his family and many friends. He will
be remembered in their hearts for ever. "A Celebration of Willy's Life" will
be held at Martin Luther Church at 505 E. 46 Ave. Van., on May 14 at 10:30

MacKIRDY - Mr. Thomas Gillies Late of Abbotsford passed away on April 27,
2008 at the age of 87 at his place of residence. He is survived by sons
Randy MacKirdy and Dale MacKirdy, and grandsons Byron MacKirdy and Tony
Clayton. He was predeceased by his wife Doreen MacKirdy. He was a dedicated
Masonic Lodge member, and a World War II veteran. A Masons service to be

MARTINO Gloria Timeless beauty and goddaughter of Osoyoos, compassionate
soul and godmother of West Vancouver, Gloria passed away on 26 April 2008.
Predeceased by her father William, mother Lena and brother Rudy. Her
strength, her humor and her vivaciousness live on in her loving husband
Bill, her children Billy, Tony, Dorey, Chad and Tiffany and grandchildren
Ryan, Monty, Oliver, Thea, Madeline and Isabella. An indomitable spirit and
relentless giver, Gloria's life will be celebrated on Friday, 2 May at the
West Vancouver Yacht Club at 4:30 p.m.

McDonald - Joanne (Hardman) March 17, 1956 - April 28, 2008 After a
courageous battle with cancer our beautiful daughter, sister, aunt,
sister-in-law and cousin has left to join the angels, of which she was one.
Survived by her mother Klara, father Don, brother Gordon (Tammy), nephew,
Blair, sister-in-law Carol, brother-in-law, Colin, many aunts, uncles and
cousins. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation would be

McKIMMON - Jody Denise Born January 12, 1991 in Mission, BC passed away on
April 25th, 2008 at the age of 17. Jody was a student at Hatzic Secondary
School where she had many friends. All who knew her will miss her smile and
energy. Jody will be lovingly remembered by her parents Barb and Wesley
McKimmon; her sister Addy McKimmon; her brothers Scott McKimmon (Casandra
Hincks) and Mitchell McKimmon; her grandparents Doug and Joy Buker, her
niece Kennedy, nephew Coen, many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was
predeceased by her grandparents, Ewen and Darlene McKimmon. Jody will remain
a big part of our lives and be kept close to our hearts. We love you Jode,
now and forever. A service will be held at Cedar Valley Mennonite Church,
32840 Janzen Ave., Mission, BC., on Saturday, May 3rd at 1:00 p.m. Donations

MURPHY THOMAS EDWARD Ed passed away at Lions Gate Hospital April 26, 2008
after a long battle with cancer. Born January 29, 1929 in Toronto, he
enjoyed a career in broadcasting with CFRB Toronto, as talk show host of
Reaction Line CKWX, The Investigators CKNW and Reaction Line CJOR all of
Vancouver. Survived by five daughters, a son, seven grandchildren and sister
Edna Lawrence of Toronto. May he rest in Peace.

POPPLE The Venerable Dr. Dennis Born in England, died in Richmond, BC. on
April 28, 2008 aged 77. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 48
years, Anne, and his daughter Helen, of Vancouver, BC for whom he held a
mutual love. Other family members and long time friends reside in B.C. and
England. On graduating matriculation, he joined the British Merchant Navy
becoming an Officer Cadet and served as 4th, 3rd and 2nd officer with The
Ellerman lines, a 100 ship passenger/cargo fleet with world wide services
and for twelve years he navigated their ships. He became a Master Mariner in
1958 and the following year he began training for the Anglican ministry at
St. Aidan's College and was made deacon in 1962 and priest the following
year. After a curacy in Manchester, he was appointed to the Port of New
Westminster, B.C. by the Missions to Seamen, a society which ministers to
seafarers in over 200 ports around the world. Then followed parishes of St.
Hilda, Sechelt (1970 - 1973), St. Laurence, Coquitlam, (1973 - 1986)
followed by an appointment as Diocesan Administrative Archdeacon serving
with Archbishop Douglas Hambidge and Bishop Michael Ingham. He took
advantage of the Diocesan Continuing Education Plan and Graduate Summer
School programs and earned a Licentiate from A.T.C. and a Doctor of Ministry
degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary. He was a member of the Order
of Holy Cross and for ten years was a chaplain of the Order of St. John of
Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller. He retired in 1996 and served as
Priest-in-Charge of the following parishes in the Diocese of New Westminster
until the end of 2007: St Andrew's, Langley, Holy Trinity Cathedral, New
Westminster, St. Stephen's, Burnaby, St. Helen's, Surrey, St. Clare in the
Cove, North Vancouver, St. Edward's Richmond. He enjoyed music, reading,
driving, gardens, architecture, Old Testament, the green fields of England,
U.K. and European castles, stately homes, cathedrals and churches, maths,
ships and life. For his time on this beautiful and broken world, he would
have said "Thanks be to God". The Eucharist will be celebrated at Christ
Church Cathedral, 690 Burrard (at West Georgia) Vancouver, Friday May 2, at
3PM. Flowers gratefully declined in favor of donations to the Palliative
Care Unit at Richmond General Hospital or The Primates World Relief Fund.

SIDHU Gursewak Singh It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden
passing of Gursewak Singh Sidhu at his home in Surrey on April 25, 2008 at
the age of 58. He is survived by his wife Shinder and his sons Aron, Bryan
and Kevin. As well as his mother Rattan Kaur, sisters Gurmail Kaur and
Surjit Kaur and brother Jagdeb. Gursewak spent most of his life in Langley
where he raised his children and worked in the sawmills. He will be deeply
missed by all. Special thanks to the ALS Society of BC and in lieu of
flowers donations to that society would be deeply appreciated. Funeral
Service to be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3 at the Riverside Funeral

WILLIS Edith Lorraine Surrounded by her loving family, Edith passed into the
presence of her Lord and Saviour on April 28, 2008 at Zion Park Manor at the
age of 88. Survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Neal; children Judy
Nowik; Ron (Arlene); Graham; Jane (Reed) Ratcliffe; ten grandchildren;
fourteen great-grandchildren; brother Laurie (Adelle) Metcalfe. The family
wishes to express gratitude to the Staff at Zion Park Manor for their

WOZNY Helen Louise (nee Di Guistini) August 21, 1925 - April 27, 2008 It is
with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Louise Wozny
(nee Di Guistini) at Vancouver General Hospital on April 27, 2008. Mom
slipped away peacefully after a courageous battle with many health concerns.
She is predeceased by her parents, Celia and Aurelio, her brother, Norm, her
aunts, Angelina and Angela and uncles, Paul and John. Helen is survived by
Al, her loving husband of 60 years, a daughter, Darlene Kerr, her husband,
John, and grandchildren Ian and Rachel of Campbell River, a son, Gary Wozny,
his wife, Helen, and granddaughters Heather and Robyn, of Burnaby,
sister-in-law, Joan Guistini, nieces Carla Markert and Claudia Hicks and
families of North Vancouver, brother, Gerry Boyko and partner, Frank Corbett
of Toronto, and cousins, Frances Tomaso of Burnaby and Sharon Edmundson and
family of Seattle, the many brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews of
the Wozny clan, her extended family in the Fraser Valley, and many, many
friends. Mom will always be remembered for her positive attitude and the
amazing fortitude and strength she showed during her last years. For 80
years, she had a good life surrounded by the people she loved. She left us
with grace and dignity and we appreciate every day we had with her. We would
like to thank our family and friends, and all of the people who supported
and cared for Mom during her long illness, especially Auntie Joan and
Frannie, caregivers, Leah and Rhea, and dear Marilou, the staff at Holy
Family Residence and to Dr. Wilton and the nurses of 11D at VGH for the
great care and respect shown to Mom and us in her final days. A memorial
service for Helen will be held at St. Anthony's Church, 1345 West 73rd
Avenue, Vancouver, on Friday, May, 2, 2008 at 11:00 AM. A reception will
follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and
Stroke Fund or the Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
