Hi Eric,
I did a search for Moodyville as I know there are a lot of places named
after Moody, including Moody Park in New Westminster and the city of
Port Moody. It looks like Moodyville was where North Vancouver now is (
and I think I did know this and it's stored in my brain's "closet"- just
that a lot of other things are blocking its way! :-))
The Moodyville Mill was the biggest structure on the North Shore of
Burrard Inlet in 1886. It was a refuge for people escaping the great
Vancouver fire.

Searching the BC Archives at:
http://www.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/cgi-bin/www2m
will give you a lot of information and visuals about Moodyville. And oh,
thanks, because I just discovered a feature at the BC archives that I
didn't know about! You can check a box on a Visual Record and it can be
a part of a contact sheet showing the pictures:
"Contact sheets are groups of thumbnail size images embedded into a
table, resulting from a search on the Visual Records Database.
Formatting of the contact sheet can be controlled by selecting the
various options below." For example-
http://www.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/cgi-bin/www2i/.visual/img_med/dir_68/a_00397.gif
this should ( don't count on it though) give you an enlarged picture of Moodyville.
Pam
(always glad to learn something new- now if I only had some ancestors
from BC! )
