Hi Gwyn:

Have you tried looking in Manitoba Vital Stats? There was a Pugh family
near the Portage la Prairie, Manitoba area. My memory recalls a Russell
Pugh. Think that one of my Aunt's (by marriage) had a niece that married
one of his sons. Also did you check the 1901 Manitoba census? Should this
family around Portage be connected, contact me and will see what I can find.
They may be buried in the Portage area.

You may wish to try the 1906 special census and the 1911 census. Not sure
if the transcribing for Manitoba for 1911 is completed, but don't recall
seeing it listed on those still being worked on. Good luck and your site is
