I am looking for information on my g-grandparents. Martin Hannan was born
about 1842, possibly in Co. Cork and Margaret Kane was born about the same
year, possibly in Co. Clare. They left Ireland around 1863 and met on the
boat. They married on arrival in Montreal at St. Patrick's on 13 Jan 1863.
Martin was a tanner and fur cutter and worked for Green's Furriers in
Montreal. They lived in Goose Village (of fond memory) and had the
following children: Jim (b.1863), Patrick (b. 1865), John (b. 1868), Mary
(b. 1870), Michael (b. 1872), Frank (b. 1875), Martin (Mort).
Frank Hannan was my grandfather and married to Maria Mason. If anyone has
information on the Hannans or Kanes, please help us over this stone wall.
