Hi Jack,
I noticed your request to Cathie, am interested in your 1860s
'connection' w/ Barachois / Gaspe. Are you registered on my website, The
Gaspe Genealogy Register, at:
http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Fields/7220/index.html
You might find some 'cousins' there.....
I see a Patrick Jones, age 60, born Ireland, R.C., merchant, on the 1871
census transcript ( Nat Arc Can film # C-10371, Dist No 172, Gaspe
South, Sub - district 'a', Malbaie & Fortin; each have 9 pages) - this
film can be borrowed by ILL from NAC - just check their website at:
http://www.archives.ca/index.html
or one may request p/copies (see website) - 0.20 ea + tx - sorry I don't
have the page he'd be on but he's just shy of the middle in the
transcript so I'd think you'd be 'safe' if you requested Malbaie pgs 6-9
& Fortin, pgs 1- 4.
He must not have hung around - or died??- don't see him on the
'81.....don't see him on the '61 either......
Good Gaspe Rootin'!
Martha
