here then R for Riviere des Prairies they have a photo of L'Abord a Plouffe
bridge in 1910. I looked up noyer for drowned but can't find anything. They
also have a section accidents. There was also the Standard newspaper back
then. And under M for Murphy there's a few Murphy's here.

transcript of both. Not sure whether it was in the Gazette or Star, or maybe
some other newspaper that may have been around at that time.
