These folks are my greatest brick wall, I'd love to hear from anyone with info or connections to this family, and will gladly share what I have. My Henry BELLOW, born (where?) about 1828, died 1866 in Montreal aged 38; married (when? where?) Sarah Ann(e) TAYLOR, they had at least 6 children between 1855 and 1865. Henry was a furrier, both spouses appear to have been illiterate as christening records, all Anglican, were signed with an "x" and the surname is variously spelled BELLOW or BALLO by the church officials. In adulthood at least one child preferred the French spelling BELLEAU. So far I haven't found them on the 1861 census, and after Henry's death I lose Sarah Ann(e). There may be a connection to Hamilton, Ontario and/or to New London, Connecticut on the TAYLOR side. If this rings bells with anyone I'd love to hear from you,
Barb in BC
