Hi Maureen:
Thanks for your reply. The only info I have on my Meany's is hubby's
granny: Given name Mary Jane, married to Edward William Murphy. Her
mother was Mary J. Barry. It doesn't look like a link, BUT you never know!
Betty

I don't know if we spoke before but who are your Meany's? My grandmother
Mary Meany was from Ballyvalden Kilkenny, now called Clifden near the town
of Gowran. Born 1888 and moved to Montreal some time in the early 1900's.
She married at St. Michael's in 1917 to John Gallagher who lived in
Griffintown when he first arrived.
Mary had a brother Dennis and Jim Meany who stayed in Montreal a while but
moved on by the time she'd come over. She had other siblings in Kilkenny
Margaret, Ellen, Michael, John, Thomas. Any connection?
Maureen
