Bonjour,
Je suis prête à aider les Francophones ne comprenant pas certains documents
en langue Anglaise.
Good morning,
I am willing to help English speaking people to translate French written
documents for their researches in genealogy. I am not perfectly bilingual
but will try to help you.
Bonne journée
Have a good day.

It's safe to say the common language of the list is English. Given that
there
are many Montrealers of Irish ancestry whose mother tongue is French, we
need
to be open to the other official language of Canada. As a percentage there
are
not many messages penned in French.
There are many people on the list who would be happy to help you understand
a
French message. There are services on the Internet (babelfish.altavista.com)
where you can translate text. It isn't perfect but you'll get the gist of
what
the author is trying to say.
I will look into your assertion re: Rootsweb policy.

See a very interesting web site about St. Columban (near St. Jerome) where
Irish settled in the 1830s (http://www.stcolumban-irish.com/)
