Diana,

Well, apparently I was right. The Mary Jane b. 1851 never did marry. HOWEVER, the Mary Jane Ferris who married Thomas Hamm, was d/o Oliver Ferris and "Betsey" Hamm (who is either daugther of the elder Thomas Hamm and Ann McDonald, or d/o John, their son.

That said, the Thomas Hamm who married Mary Jane Ferris was b. 1850, and is son of John Benjamin Hamm and Sybil Cole... John B. being son of Thomas Hamm and Ann McDonald. My OWN theory about Thomas' origins... based on recent information found... is that there's a FAIR chance, he's son of Andrew Hamm, Loyalist, b. 1755, d. 1816 (and his wife, Barbara), both buried Hardings Point Loyalist Burial Ground in Kings Co, NB. Just no idea how to prove that theory. :-)

There are a few Andrews that pop-up, mostly middle names, in descendants of Thomas... so it's POSSIBLE.

Have been hitting this family hard, recently, and believe that Thomas and Ann had several children (at least 12) in Queens Co, NB, between 1811 and 1836.

Jared
