On ISAAC:

Issac A. (Andrew?) Hamm, b. Jan-1833, Queens County, NB (no matter what is said in Death record). Died 04-Dec-1907, Boston, MA. Married twice, at least.

First - Sarah Ann McCauley, on 19-Jun-1854, Johnston Parish, Queens Co, NB.

Second - Hannah Amelia Ferris, in 1870, either in NB or Maine, USA

Hannah Amelia Ferris, b. Jun-1851, d/o Thomas Ferris and Jane Barton.

Children, all born Maine:

1. Ella May Hamm, b. 02-Jun-1871, married Richard Stephen Cray, in 1893, at Boston, they had Ellen/Ella M. Cray, Apr-1894, and Arthur Stephen Cray, b. 16-Jul-1896, both MA.

2. Isaac Andrew Hamm, b. 14-Oct-1883, Portland, ME, USA, d. Oct-1965, Massachusetts, USA

3. Mabel ?B? Hamm, b. Jul-1889, Portland, ME, (NFI)

NOTES on ISAAC (Sr):
Isaac A. Hamm, witnessed marriage of Jane Corcoran and James B. Thorn on 26-Oct-1854, Johnston, where he was listed with full name "Isaac A. Hamm".

As HAM/HAMM family removed to Gagetown, then Wickham, then mostly Johnston Parish, there's an Isaac Ham listed in Queens County Marriages, "of Johnston", m. 1854 to Sarah Ann McCauley.

I also have SERIOUS doubt Isaac was actually born in St. John. Perhaps there was a confusion between St John and Johnston? Or, that his parents likely came from there, initially... perhaps such was the "construation" of the record.

Found Isaac and Amelia in 1870 US Census for Waterborough, York Co, Maine.
He was listed as 36, she was listed as 18. He as a farm laborer, her keeping house, he born MAINE, she b. NB. So, another "mark" on a New England birth for Isaac... no surprise there!

DOD minus age doesn't quite add up to DOB from 1900 US Census.

Death Record indicates: Isaac A. Hamm, (Sr.) d. 04-Dec-1907, Boston, Suffolk Co, MA. Aged 74y 9m 26d (that should be about 08-Feb-1833. So, changed year to 1833 but left month of Jan, in case someone made an error in month count.

1900 US Census for Boston, Suffolk Co, MA:

Hamm, Isaac A., head, w, m, Jan-1834, 66, M-29, Can/Eng, NH, NH, stevedore - vessels ARR: 1859
Hamm, Amelia, wife, w, f, Jun-1851, 48, M-29, 4/4, Can/Eng, Can/Eng, Can/Eng, none (ARR: 1859 - or so it says)
Cray, Ella M., dau, w, f, Jun-1871, 28, M-6, 2/2, ME, Can, Can, maker of fancy underwear
Hamm, Mabel, ?B?, dau, w, f, Jul-1889, 10, S, ME, Can, Can, at school
Hamm, Isaac A., son, w, m, Oct-1882, 17, ME, Can, Can, at school
Cray, Ella M., g.dau, w, f, Apr-1894, 6, S, MA, MA, ME, at school
Cray, Arthur S., g.son, w, m, Jul-1896, 3, S, MA, MA, ME

NOTE: If Hannah arrived in 1859, she'd have been but 8 years of age, and her family would likely be enumerated in 1860 census in US. As it was, they were enumerated in 1861 in Queens County, New Brunswick, so PERHAPS her entry date should be closer to 1869? If so, suggest a possibility they were married in Maine.

Arthur Stephen Cray, b. 16-Jul-1896, Boston, Suffolk Co, MA, s/o Richard S. Cray and Ella M. Richard b. Boston, Ella b. Portland, ME.

Isaac A. Hamm, (Sr.) d. 04-Dec-1907, Boston, Suffolk Co, MA.
Aged 74y 9m 26d

b. St John, NB, father Thomas Hamm, b. same, mother Ann McDonald, b. same.
Isaac was a stevedore, died Old Age, with a contributing factor of Chronic Bronchitis.
Buried Glenwood Cemetery, Everett, Massachusetts, USA

In 1889, Isaac A. Hamm (Sr.) resided 38 Cedar, Portland, ME, worked as laborer.
