In this edition of "The Evening Telegram there were quite a few death
announcements so I will be posting these in 4 parts. This is part three.
MULROONEY, Patrick - Passed peacefully away at Lions Manor on July 13, 1991,
in his 70th year (originally from Red Island). Leaving to mourn his loving
wife Theresa (nee Ryan); one daughter Marion Clark (husband Rick); two sons:
Michael and wife Theckla, Joseph and wife Denise. Also two brothers:
Bernard and William, and six grandchildren. Resting at Mahers Funeral Home,
Placentia. Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church,
Placentia. Interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Placentia.
PEARCE, Mona (nee Halleran) - Passed peacefully away in her home on July 12,
1991, age 58 years. Predeceased by her husband John. Leaving to mourn four
loving daughters: Maureen and husband Walter of Kelligrews, Carolann and
husband Chris Lamkin of Foxtrap, Brenda and husband Scott Kavanagh of New
Brunswick and Rosemary and husband Harold Admond of Long Pond; four sons:
John and wife Brenda, Wayne and wife Theresa, David, Chris and wife
Michelle, all of St. John's: her father Nicholas Halleran; brothers: Robert
and wife Theresa, Gerald and wife Marie, Bernard and wife Carmelitta, Hilroy
Junior, all of St. Mary's Bay; four sisters: Marion (Mrs. Jack Melendy),
Rose and husband Dick Bailey, St. John's, Edna and husband Bass Halleran,
St. Vincent's and Ruth Halleran, Mount Pearl; 18 grandchildren and a large
circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass Monday, July 15th 1:30 p.m. at Basilica. Interment to follow
at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
PRIOR, J. Geoffrey - Passed away at his residence in Chapala, Mexico, July
6, 1991 in his 66th year. Predeceased by his wife Carmel (Reddy). Leaving
to mourn one son Eric of St. John's; one daughter Pamela of Mount Pearl; one
brother Jand and wife Ranate and family of Dallas, texa, as well as his many
friends, especially in Wabush, Labrador. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home at
2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 1991. Funeral service will be from Mary Queen of
the World Church on Topsail Road Monday at 12 noon, July 15. Interment at
Fermuse, Southern Shore.
SCOTT, Austin - Of Heart's Desire. Passed away at the Health Sciences
Complex, Friday, July 12, 1991 after a brief illness. Predeceased by his
parents Timothy and Maude Scott. He was employed for many years with the
Memorial University Language Lab. Remains rest at Sacred Heart Church,
Heart's Desire. Visiting hours Monday 2-9 p.m. Funeral Mass Tuesday at 11
a.m. No flower, buy any donations to the Health Sciences Complex MRI Fund
would be much appreciated.
