CAINES, Evelyn L. (nee Carter) - Passed peacefully away on December 29, 2005 at the Hoyles Home, Evelyn Caines, age 98 years. Predeceased by her husband Eric. Left with fond and loving memories her two sons: Robert (Ingrid), Kamloops, B.C. and Stan (Fredris), St. John's; seven grandchildren: Shawn (Carolyn), Shana Parker (Andrew), Sara, Michelle Puddister (Dave), Robert (Cynthia), Karen Nicholls (Todd) and Kenneth; eight great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Friday, December 30 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the St. Thomas' Anglican Church Memorial Fund. DICKS, Edith (Gregory) - Passed peacefully away at her home on Thursday, December 29, 2005 at 66 years of age. Predeceased by her parents Steve and Millie Gregory; brothers: Albert and Lloyd. Left with loving memories her husband Lloyd; daughters: Coleen (Jim), Lorna (Lance) and son: Greg (Tammy); and three precious grandsons whom she adored: Stephen, Justin and Dylan; brothers: Eric (Joyce), Carl (Joyce); sister: Thelma (Bob) and sisters-in-law: Louise and Maxine; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Holloway's Funeral Home in Whitbourne. Visitation to be on Friday, December 30, 2005, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm., Saturday, December 31 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. The Funeral service to celebrate Edith's life is to be held on Saturday, December 31, 2005 at 12:00 p.m. at the Anglican Church in Whitbourne with interment at the Anglican Cemetery in Fair Haven. HURLEY, Irene (nee Earle) - Passed away suddenly but very peacefully, surrounded by her family at St. Clare's Hospital on December 28, 2005, Irene Hurley (nee Earle), age 85 of Shea Heights. Predeceased by her loving husband Gordon (1984) and darling daughter Lorraine (1994). Leaving to mourn her loving daughter: Yvonne, sons: Gordon (Jean) and Roy Hurley; dear sister: Ann Cave; six grandsons; one granddaughter; twelve great-grandchildren and a very large number of relatives and close friends from out of town and on Shea Heights. MONAHAN, John Wm (Jack) - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, December 29, 2005, John Wm (Jack) Monahan, aged 65. P.N.A., retired, Waterford Hospital. Predeceased by his father John T. 1981, his mother Lillian (nee Noseworthy) 1972 and his brother Michael L. 2002. Leaving to mourn his loss are his loving wife, Emily (nee Bishop); his adored children: Michael R. (Maureen), Bordon, Ontario, Robert J. Bob (Bonnie) and his darling daughter: Jacquelyn (Perry Carroll). Loving and proud Da to Robbie, Samantha and Mary Anne; Christopher, Kirk and Joshua, Ontario. PAUL, Gerard - Age 45, Ferryland. After a brave and strong fight against cancer, Gerard was taken too quickly from us on December 28, 2005. Leaving to mourn, with great sadness, his wife Lorraine and two precious children: Melissa (21) and Darrell (24); his father: Jim, brother: Robert and sister: Bernadette (Albert Cose); nephews: Lee and Nigel Cose and numerous family and friends. Gerard is predeceased by his mother: Mary Paul and father and mother-in-law: Thomas and Mary O'Neill. Gerard was a devoted father and husband. He was a kind and generous man who will be missed by all who knew him. Resting at Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls.
