MacISAAC, Mary Catherine "Mary Kate" - 91, R.K. MacDonald Nursing
Home, formerly of Victoria Street, Antigonish, passed away May 27,
2006, in the home. Born in Caledonia Mills, Antigonish Co., she was a
daughter of the late John R. and Mary (Mac Donald) MacPherson. Mary
Kate was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
She was a lifelong member of St. Ninian's CWL. Her generous spirit
lead her to volunteer in various community activities. In 1985 she
was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of
outstanding volunteer service benefiting our community. In 1992, Mary
Kate was awarded a Certificate of Merit in recognition of her
contribution to the Town of Antigonish. She is survived by her sons,
Huntley (Margie), Lauchie (Betty), Gerald (Margie); daughter, Donna
(Jack) Lydon, Antigonish; Ann MacKinnon (Jim Power), Halifax;
stepdaughter, Teresa, Antigonish; 10 grandchildren, 15
great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by her husband, Angus; stepson, D.G.; grandson, George;
brothers, Allan, Roderick, Finlay, Colin, Alexander, Cornelius and
Lauchie MacPherson; sister, Mary Kate in infancy. Visitation 2-4, 7-9
p.m. today in MacIsaac Funeral Home, Antigonish. Liturgy of Christian
Burial 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Ninian's Cathedral, Antigonish, Rev.
Ray Huntley presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers
only. Donations may be made to the Antigonish Seniors' CARE Van
Society, 64 Pleasant St., Antigonish, NS B2G 1W7, or R.K. MacDonald
