Great to hear from you, especially this fast-----------GOOD WORK Dunn--Web Dunn was the chief of police in Digby for the whole period of my life there 1949-1958 and perhaps after. He had a son Gary who was of my age,as we chumed a lot to gether.Chief Dunn had an assistant officer named Fred Margerin or Margin. To my rememberance he was a fine gentleman, and i speak for my self in saying that he was a superfriendly officer with the kids in town, and we all liked him very much.I was told they had a memory of some type for him after he passed away, and i think it was a tree or something to that fact.I think his trouble would be when the navy people from Cornwallis would come into town to raise a little ----!If this is the person please do let me .know. Now forTurnbull-i think they owned the Turnbull Lumber Yard in town, and if i recall they had a bright yellow truck to take the lumber off of the train cars to take it back to the lumber yard. They has a son --Gary who was also in the s!
ame grades as i was,and he was a really hard working person in school and also having to work in the lumber yard.I can recall a bad car accident that some of us were in one late afternoon, and i think Gary was in the car to---we were out at one of the lakes fishing, and realized we were late to get back to the bingo at the fire hall for that night,so we went a little faster then we were supposed to,came to a small hill,(2 fast) and lost control of the cae and hit a boulder,no one was seriously hurt,(mentally yes) they came out and brought us back into town in time to get to the bingo,i think it was Gary's father's car,but not to well to remember.Digby was a truly great place to live,i loved every bad day we had as if it was a great day.The only reason that i left is that my grandparents raised me there as their own son,and when they passed away i was FORCED to come live with my parents here in London Ont.I have been back twice, and hated to leave, and noticed the very many chan!
ges the Town has made. For a while i was literally lost,as places were
torn down,or moved some place else or just taken away. But my Heart will allways be there. Hope i did not bore you. Thanks and please keep in touch.
