TAPLIN, John Arthur "Jack"
TAPLIN, John Arthur "Jack" - 79, 6190 Jubilee Road, Halifax, passed away, after a long battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, in the VG Site, QEII, on Sunday, December 9, 2007. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Mary (Tanner) and Arthur J. Taplin. Jack was a self-taught man, a nonconformist with an irreverent sense of humour. As a young man, Jack was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fly fishing and boating on the Musquodoboit River. He was a voracious reader and a big supporter of the Halifax Public Library, particularly the Mobile and Home Bound Services. Jack worked as a barber for many years, most recently at Stadacona in the Chief & PO's Mess. He and Nora retired to the country in 1986 where he helped to care for a variety of animals. They returned to Halifax in 2004 and Jack enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, the former Nora Strachan; daughters, Mary Taplin, Cathy Taplin, and Wendy Callahan;
grandchildren, Kirt Callahan, Stephanie Callahan, Sheila (Kenneth) Callahan-Ruck; his brother, Bernard "Skip" Taplin; and sister, Linda (Ian) Collins. Jack was predeceased by his sister, Kathleen, and his daughter, Pamela. Like his father before him, Jack chose to donate his body to further medical science, giving of himself for the good of others. A memorial service will be held later in December. Donations in Jack's memory can be made to the Bide Awhile Animal Shelter or a charity of your choice. TOLLIVER, Justin Tyson
TOLLIVER, Justin Tyson - 32, Halifax, passed away December 4, 2007, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Patricia Adams and John Tolliver Sr. He was employed as a drywaller with a friend of his (Jason Dry Walling Company). He had a passion for boxing and football (favourite team New York Giants). He is survived by his mother, Patricia Adams; father, John Tolliver Sr.; son, Tyshaun; sister, Sonya; brothers, John Jr. and Jason. You could not have asked for a better son, father, brother or friend. A private family visitation was held. No service by request of the family. Cremation has taken place. E-mail condolences:

VEINOT, Joeb Hilton
VEINOT, Joeb Hilton - 6 weeks and 5 days old, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2007, in the IWK Health Centre, Halifax. Born in Halifax, he was the infant son of Sarah Veinot and Paul Seaboyer. A special thank you to the staff and doctors of the NICU2 IWK Health Centre, Halifax for their help and support during this difficult time. Also, a special thank you to Morgan Sweet for all her support and assistance. Your caring and kindness will never be forgotten. Besides his parents, he is survived by twin brother, Seth Richard Veinot; maternal grandparents, John and Sandra Veinot and paternal grandmother, Suzanne Richards all of Brickton. WARREN, Charles Keith "Chuck"
WARREN, Charles Keith "Chuck" - Simpsons Corner/Dartmouth, 55, died suddenly December 8, 2007. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Charles and Annie (Hand) Warren. Chuck was a carpenter by profession. He is survived by his sisters, Anne (Dennis) Henneberry, Mount Uniacke; Joan Thibault, Eastern Passage; Joyce Fahie, Dartmouth, as well as several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Maple Street, Dartmouth. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Dartmouth Funeral Home, 29 Queen St.
