MORIARTY, Donald Francis
MORIARTY, Donald Francis - 83, Halifax and Shad Bay. It is with heavy hearts that we announce Donald's passing in Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building, QEII, on Saturday August 2, 2008. Born in Halifax to the late Dennis and Margaret (Brackett) Moriarty, Donald grew up on Wellington Street in Halifax and attended College Street School. Donald had a progressive career that spanned over 35 years at Canada Post. He held many positions including that of postmaster for Halifax. Later he took on the key role as the Project Manager for Canada Post during the development and implementation of the Almon Street plant which introduced new mechanized sorting. He then became Manager of Collection and Delivery for metro Halifax prior to his retirement. "Dinny and Fran" spent many years in the community of Shad Bay where their home was a welcoming place for friends and family. Here they renovated the Moriarty family cottage that was originally constructed by his father. They enjoyed many
outings on Prospect Bay with friends and family on their boat or fishing with the grandchildren. Despite his many health issues in his retirement years he was able to travel to China, Australia, England, Europe and winters in Florida. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather (fondly known as "Pa"), great-grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Frances Elizabeth (Nunn); daughter, Christine and children Christopher and Colin Cahoon, Jennifer (Tony Tenwolde), Bridgewater; son, Don (Linda) and grandchildren Nick (and Marcie), Luke and Jacquelyn, Dartmouth; son, Michael (Bev) and grandchildren Lora, Melanie and Peter, Halifax; daughter, Susan (Rick Servatiak) and grandson Jeff Horne, Halifax; son, Tom and grandchildren Chelsea, Cora Leigh and Erin, Glace Bay; son, Bruce (Fiona) and grandchildren Ryan and Kate, Perth, Australia; daughter, Barbara (Michael Furlong) and grandchildren Nicole and Jill, Halifax; son Brian (Monica),
grandchildren Alex and Kathleen, Halifax. He was predeceased by his youngest son, Peter, and is survived by granddaughter, Kaitlyn. He is survived by great-grandchildren, Devin, Jacob, Liam, Sophia and Gaylin. He is also survived by brother, Peter, St. Stephen's, N.L.; sisters, Margaret Sullivan, Halifax; Ruth MacDonald, Dartmouth, and Jean (Dave Falconer), Halifax. He was predeceased by his sisters, Dorothy and Joan (John Alguire), and his brother, Douglas. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, Windsor Street, Halifax. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6, in St. Agnes Church, Halifax. Private family burial at a later date. MORINE, Victorine Dorothy "Vicki" - 83, Hortonville. It is with great sadness that the family of Victorine announces her passing. Vicki passed away peacefully on August 2, 2008, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of the late Edmund and Loretta (Blauveldt) Doucette. Vicki had a great love for country music. She was very fond of her pet budgies and canaries that she had given home to over the years. Vicki loved and will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Nicholas and Luke. Every new picture of them found its spot on the wall of her living room. Vicki is survived by her husband, George; sons, Walter, at home; Robert (Karen), Wallbrook; grandsons, Nicholas and Luke, Wallbrook; sister, Edith Hannigan, Yarmouth; brothers, Nelson, Chalk River, Ont.; Clayton, Ottawa; Mel and Loran, both of Yarmouth. Besides her parents, Vicki was predeceased by sister, Irma Doucette; brother, Bernard, and two brothers in infancy. In lieu of flowers,

MOSHER, Robert Henry
MOSHER, Robert Henry - 77, West Dublin, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2008, in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown, where he had been residing. Born in West Dublin, he was a son of the late Clarence and Effie (Veinotte) Mosher. Prior to retirement he was a self-employed electrician and plumber. He enjoyed carpentry and saltwater fishing as his hobbies. Surviving are his sister, Gloria (Kendall) Ritcey, Stanley Section; nieces, Louise (Bradford) Penney, Stanley Section; Peggy (Todd) Meisner, New Germany. He was predeceased by brother, Bain. No visitation at the funeral home by request. A private graveside service will be held in Brookside Cemetery, West Dublin, Rev. Paul Jensen officiating. No flowers by request, donations may be made to Mountain Lea Lodge, Brookside Cemetery or a charity of choice. MUNRO, Lawrence Eugene - 77, Coldbrook, passed away July 31, 2008, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. He was a son of the late Lawrence and Clara (Ellis) Munro. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Frost); daughter, Cynthia, Coldbrook; sons, Stephen (Phyllis), Waterville; Alan (Karen), Coldbrook; Chris (Valerie), Sylvan Lake, Alta.; grandchildren, Nancy, Shari Lynn, Adam, Alyssa, Damen, Kyle, Samantha, Sherry, Matthew; sister, June (Kirk) Whitman, Round Hill, Annapolis Co.; Myrna Pearce, Orangeville, Ont.; brother, Welsford (Vivian), Meisner's Section, Lunenburg Co., and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Alton. Cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral by the family's request. A private family burial will be held at a later date. MYKETYN, Michael
MYKETYN, Michael - 79, Dartmouth. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our devoted husband, father and grandfather on August 2, 2008, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Glace Bay on June 11, 1929, as the son of the late Tomas and Anna Myketyn of Krasna Ukraine. He was predeceased by older brothers, Johnny and Stephen. Mike married his high school sweetheart, Mary Brann, and moved to the Halifax area in 1957. Mike was a retired boat building inspector with the Provincial Department of Fisheries. He was an avid sports enthusiast who played hockey, baseball, rugby and other sports. Later he enjoyed watching all sports on television, but most often could be found at the gym, hockey rink, lake or sports fields watching his grandchildren compete. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary, and by his children, Tom (Jennifer) Myketyn and Lynn (Brian) Fitzpatrick; grandchildren, Caitlyn, Kevin, Brett, Sean and Chris, as well as sister-in-law,
Peggy Myketyn, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. A reception will follow the service.
