KENNETH MACLEAN MURRAY - The death of Kenneth MacLean MURRAY occurred suddenly on Sunday, January 26, in Tatamagouche hospital after a short illness. Born at Tatamagouche Mountain, April 10, 1892, he was the son of the late Angus and Joanna (MacLEAN) MURRAY. The late Mr. MURRAY was a life long resident of this community where he carried on farming. He was a long standing member of the Tatamagouche Mountain United Church, also elder of the church. He took an active part in all affairs pertaining to the good of community life and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Left to mourn are his wife, the former Ada LANGILLE, three sons, Bruce of Onslow, Leonard and John, at home; five daughters Lettie (Mrs. Earle FRAME), Gays River; Jennie (Mrs. Gordon FARNELL), Upper Musquodoboit: Hilda (Mrs. Alden ROSS), London, Ont.; Hazel (Mrs. Sanford Lata), Malagash; Pearl (Mrs. Millard CHARMAN), Wallace; one brother, Robert, Edmonton, Alta. A son Clifford predeceased him in June, 1968, and two brothers, Orlo and Murdock and one sister, Lettie Anne, also predeceased him. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral service was held on Wednesday at 2 o'clock from the Falls Presbyterian Church where the service was conducted by his pastor, the Rev A.G. KELLOGWAY of the United Church, assisted by the Rev. Gordon MATHESON of the Presbyterian Church. Hymns sung by the choir were "Does Jesus Care" and "Will the Circle be Unbroken". Pallbearers were Gordon BAILEY, George WOODWORTH, Ray THOMPSON, Laurie LANGILLE, Earle MacNUTT and Louis LANGILLE. The many beautiful floral tributes, cards, letters and memorial cards showed the high esteem in which Mr. Murray was held. Interment was in The Falls Cemetery with Harry BONNYMAN as funeral director.
