May 6, 1985. Upper Musquodoboit - George Gordon (Bud) FARNELL, 69, Upper Musquodoboit, died Monday in Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital. Born in Upper Musquodoboit, he was the son of Anna (CONNOR) FARNELL and the late Austin FARNELL. He was a carpenter and served overseas during the Second World War. He was employed at CFB Windsor Park in Halifax for a number of years. He was a member of St. James United Church, Upper Musquodoboit and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He is survived by his wife, the former Jennie MURRAY; three sons, Richard and Gregory, both of Middle Musquodoboit; Murray, Enfield; one daughter, Dianne (Mrs. Larry JOHNSON), Upper Stewiacke; three brothers, Eric, Welland, Ont.; Earle, Dartmouth; Reg, Upper Musquodoboit; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel LAWLOR, Dartmouth; Marion (Mrs. Woodrow MASKILL), Musquodoboit Harbour; eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Louise. The body will be in Ettinger's Funeral Home, Middle Musquodoboit after noon today. Funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in St. James United Church, Upper Musquodoboit, Rev. Ross MacDONALD officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James United Church or any charity.
