MRS. JOHN HORNE

NEW GLASGOW, June 2 - There passed away at her home this morning, after
a long illness, Mrs. John Horne, Brookside Avenue, in her 72nd year. A
legion of friends will mourn her death for she was a woman of gentle and
Christian character, who lived a well spent and useful life. Born at Little
Harbor she was before her marriage Sophie Murray. The greater part of her
life she lived in Stellarton. She married John Horne, blacksmith, of the
Nova Scotia Steel and Coal Company, who survives her, with a daughter,
Mrs. Freeman Moore. Four sisters also survive, Mrs. Alex MacKenzie and
Mrs. Alex Douglas, Stellarton; Mrs. Scriven Thomas, Truro; and Mrs. Sam
MacKay, Truro. A loyal member of St. Andrew's church she will be greatly
missed there and in the home. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
