At the Township Meeting for the Township of Nepean, held at Wood's Tavern, on January 1, 1844, the following Officers were elected:-
Municipal Councillor in place of John THOMSON - F. BEARMAN
Assessor for Bytown - James FRASER
Collector for Bytown - Archibald FOSTER
Assessor & Collector for the Township - Hugh BELL
Township Clerk - Reuben TRAVELLER
Pathmasters: - Wm. THOMSON, Chas. MCGEE, Wm. BELL, James DAVIDSON, Alex. MCCREA, George PATTERSON, for Lower Bytown. - James POLLOCK, Walter JOHNSTON, James MULVAUGH, James WATER, Philip FOGARTY, Walter SCOBIE, Lyman HANAWELL, Elkana STOWELL, William BRADLEY, John GRAHAM, Isaac PLUNKETT, James WARNOCK, Samuel COURTNEY, Roger HAWLEY, Timothy GLEESON, John BOUCHER, Thos. LANG, John NESBITT, Thos. MCKEE, Patrick GARLAND, Michael LONG, Patrick MCGILL, William SHORE, Michael GRADY, William FOSTER, and Samuel WILSON.

No cattle to run at large from the 1st of November to the 1st of April
