Hello, I am new to the list and wish to make my interests known.
My 2xg grandparents, Thomas and Elisabeth Lane lived in the Ingersol, Woodstock area
after immigrating from Scotland prior to Feb, 28, 1855, as they were married on that date at Brock District, Ontario, Canada.
>From the information that I have gathered to date, they had a family of five daughters and two sons, and Thomas is listed on the 1871 census of Ontario as a Grocer.
I have tracked the family to Birtle, Manitoba, where they moved in 1879/80, but the youngest daughter, Annie Lane and the eldest daughter, Isabella do not seem to have travelled to Manitoba with the family at that time. I wonder if Annie may have passed away, but have not found a record of that notion. It seems that Isabella was married to a chap named McNutt, who it is thought may have been a police officer in Toronto, in the later part of the 18oo's.
Would appreciate any help as my information is sketchy,..to say the least.
