Fellow List Members:
I recently received the following "History of Fulton Loyal Orange
Lodge No. 1754" of North Sydney, Nova Scotia from Sid Hatcher, PRWGM
of the GOL of Nova Scotia. I am hoping to put it on the web site
someday but in the meantime here it is for everyone's information:
HISTORY OF FULTON LOL NO. 1754 (of North Sydney, Nova Scotia)
In 1889, the first Loyal Orange Lodge here, Terra Nova No. 1575, built
the Terra Nova Hall on Pleasant Street, about opposite the present
Knights of Columbus Hall. The Trustees were: George A. Guzwell,
jeweller; James A. Stubbert, photographer; and William J. Snow,
painter. William J. Wilson and John J. Dingwall were among the other
members.
On April 20, 1901, Fulton Loyal Orange Lodge No. 1754 was organized
and took over from the former Lodge. A new hall was built on Peppett
Street. The first officers were:
Worshipful Master - William Langdon
Deputy Master - William F. MacKenzie

On July 23, 1903 the Royal Black Chapter Ennis Killen No. 341 was
organized with William F. MacKenzie as the Worshipful Preceptor.
