Dear all:

A bit more on this proposed new list. So far I have had interest from about
a dozen list members.

Those who have been around the Rootsweb internet world for a few years may
remember that I have founded several lists. Each of these I believed there
was a need for and some in time I turned over to others. They included:

1. Irish Canadian Mailing List (which I turned over )

2. United Empire Loyalist Mailing List (which I also turned over)

3. Canada Orange Mailing List

4. British North America Mailing List

5. Canadian Ulster Scots Mailing List

In my background there have been ancestors who would have considered
themselves Loyalists, others who were Irish, and others who were British.

As a youngster growing up in Ontario I can remember first thinking in terms
of being British and then as the years advanced and Canadians started to it
seem become more restricted in their backgrounds, this becoming Irish (
perhaps in part to the growing divisions within Britain).

At any rate, what I also wanted to say is that I've also had interest from
persons from outside Canada in the proposed British Canadian Club. So I
have decided that as long as you are interested in it from a Canadian
perspective that's fine and if you live somewhere other than Canada please
do contact me about being included in the new list.

No one with an interest in or who considers themself "British - Canadian" is
meant to be excluded. :-)
