DORIS M. GLAUDE - Woonsocket

DORIS M. GLAUDE, 71, of Second Avenue, a retired mill supervisor and former
jewelry worker, died Friday in Landmark Medical Center.
She was the wife of Joseph L.W. Pete Glaude. They had been married for 51
years. Born in Chelmsford, Ontario, a daughter of the late Aurele Gatien and
Bertha (Fredette) Lanctot, and a stepdaughter of the late Arthur Lanctot,
she came to this country when she was 12 and had lived in Woonsocket most of
her life.
Mrs. Glaude had been supervisor of the men's department at the former Nyanza
Mill. She had also worked as a molder at the Miller Electric Co., and as an
assembler at B&B Jewerly before retiring in 1992.
She was a past president of the Mastectomy Club, Woonsocket chapter, and a
former supervisor of the Board of Registration and Elections at the Jimmy
Ray Center.
Mrs. Glaude was a past honorary secretary of the Woonsocket Colt Baseball
League, a former board member of the Woonsocket Pony League, and a former
member of the Woonsocket Youth Football League, and the "Y" Wives.
She enjoyed traveling to Canada, knitting, and listening to music.
She leaves two sons, Mark W. and James A. Glaude, both of Burrillville; a
daughter, Ginger Leary of Woonsocket; a sister, Edmonde Bragg in Canada; a
stepbrother, Arthur Lanctot Jr. of Woonsocket; a stepsister, Claire Larson;
and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was the sister of
the late Theo and Theresa Belanger, and Rene Gatien.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in S. DiPardo Memorial
Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Burial will be in St. Jean
Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, Mass.
