08/02/2004EVERETT G. SHONYO SWANTON - Everett George Shonyo, 72, passed away
in the morning hours of Friday, July 30, 2004, in Northwestern Medical
Center in St. Albans. He was born in Magog, Quebec, Canada, Aug. 12, 1931,
son of the late Frank Burton and Rose (Sandall) Shonyo. Everett married the
former Grace Burnor and together they raised their three children. Grace
predeceased Everett on March 20, 1999. He was well known in the Cambridge,
community as a farmer and member of the Cambridge Fire Department. He had
also been a past dedicated farmer for over 25 years, having managed Lakewood
Farms in West Swanton, owned by John Carman. Everett was John's farming
partner, employee, right hand man and most of all, great friend. John had
graciously provided a home for Everett on the farm in return for Everett's
dedication and commitment to the success of Lakewood Farms. John's earlier
passing was not only a tremendous loss to the future of Lakewood Farms but
also to Everett personally. Everett loved farming, continuing to work on the
Bourdeau Farm for his son-inlaw Rene. His unconditional love for his
children and commitment to his friends will be greatly missed by all those
who knew and loved him. He is survived by, a son, Burton Shonyo and friend,
Terri of Swanton, two daughters, Mary Jane Shonyo of Swanton, Marjorie
Bourdeau and husband, Rene of Swanton; two sisters, Edna Wilson of Brockton,
Mass., and Ruby Sherrer and husband, Eric of Dunham, Quebec, Canada; two
special and loving grandchildren, Emily and Ellie Bourdeau; several nieces,
nephews and cousins; and his constant companions, Freckles and Cupper.
