Carmen G. Rascoe
SCHUYLER FALLS - Carmen G. Rascoe, 75, of Amber Lane, died Friday, July 30,
2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
She was born on Nov. 3, 1928, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., the daughter of Charles
and Mae (Laramie) Donah Sr.
Carmen owned and operated the Pine Room Restaurant in Mascoutah, Ill., for
over 10 years with her husband James. He died on Feb. 11, 1998.
After she retired from the restaurant, they moved to Plattsburgh to be
closer to their families. Carmen then became very active with the Foster
Parent Association. She was a past president of the association and took
much joy in being a foster mother for several children. She was an avid
bingo player and loved crocheting, camping and spending time with her
family. Carmen was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 309 in
Schuyler Falls.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Bonnie and Armond
Frederick of Schuyler Falls, Rosanne Carter of' Martinez, Ga., and Glenda
Rascoe and Wayne Brassard of Schuyler Falls; four grandchildren, Brandi
Maynard and her husband Bryan, Sean Carter, Jennifer Patrie and her husband
Nicholas and Melissa Frederick; four great-grandchildren, Dominic Caron,
Jonathan Caron, Nicholas Haas-Patrie and Cameron Patrie; and several nieces
and nephews.
She was predeceased by one brother, Charles Donah Jr.; and four sisters,
Lucie Donah, Bertha Parker, Ethel Johnson and Hazel Seymour.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 1 p.m. in St.
Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in the Schuyler Falls
Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
