Joseph A. Martin

MARTIN, Joseph A. Joseph A. Martin, 91 of Manchester, formerly of East
Hartford, husband of the late Eleanor M. (Horn) Martin, passed away
peacefully Thursday, (July 29, 2004) at an area convalescent home. He was
born May 4, 1913, in Hartford, son of Charles and Margaret (Collins) Martin,
was raised in East Hartford and had resided in Manchester since 1944. Mr.
Martin was an automobile mechanic in East Hartford for several years and
prior to retiring in 1975 was employed as a foreman with Pratt & Whitney
Aircraft for over 30 years. His hobbies included fishing and photography.
Mr. Martin is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. and Sharron
Martin of Belmont, NC; his daughter, Lorraine M. Marcure of Franklin; three
sisters, Rita Kalos of Manchester and Florida, Doris Forrand of Enfield, and
Jeannette Montivani of Vernon; many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and
parents he was predeceased by his son-in-law, John A. Marcure. Funeral
services will be Wednesday, August 4, at 1 p.m. at Holmes Funeral Home, 400
Main St., Manchester. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester.
Calling hours will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 12 Noon until the
time of the service. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be
made to Alzheimer's Association, Northern Connecticut Chapter, 96 Oak St.,
