Leah, Listers, The Cummins Maps are available at the Saskatchewan Archives Board. Cost about five dollars. They are not expensive but are a real goldmine of information. I believe they cover most if not all of the various areas of Saskatchewan but maybe someone else might know better. They can use a land description and settler's name to assist in locating the records if you have them, and the Town name. They were printed in the early years of 1900, but some have been lost I believe. Every piece of land is identified with owners name and with the Section number sequence as well...........If you talk to the land owners today they often refer to the land by it's Homesteader's name..........My gggrandfather Carl Gustaf LUNDBERG from Torup, Hallands lan, Sweden homesteaded a piece of land that would be called the "Lundberg quarter", or quarter section of land thus (160 acres). A section of land is one mile by one mile square or 640 acres of land. Not every qua!
rter of land had a house or farm on it as some Pioneers had two or more quarters of land sometimes adjoining...................Go to the "Saskatchewan Genweb Project"............for details...............post your Query in the Region of your interest linking the family name with the Town name.............example: John Pederson of Spalding, Sask............Email Sask Archives Board at : <> is the Saskatoon Branch. There is a Regina branch has Email as well................To see a real old Settlement of 1904 map go to the "Kamsack Region" of the Saskatchewan Genweb Project........This is an online and searchable map there - that you will find most interesting.......bye...........tj...........
