Have you noticed the sadness of the Canadian people these last few days since the death of Pierre Trudeau? I never thought I would miss him that much. It was a similar feeling that I had when my own father died ten years ago. I had never met Pierre personally but I did respect him despite being against many of his political programs. I have been trying to figure this part out.

Maybe it was his intelligence and wit? Maybe it was his love of ALL of Canada especially the outdoors , the lakes and rivers and mountains? Maybe it was his obvious pride in CANADA and his vision that all Canadians are important and have value in society. Maybe it was his humour and eloquence? Maybe it was his pride of his three sons and devotion to them?..............
