To all readers:-
Next year, 2003 is a very busy year with many planned, plus
other hopeful events. Here are several 2003 events:-
Family researchers and genealogists are working for and hoping
for the release of the 1911 Canadian census records. Many
petitions have been sent, supporting Bill S-12 by Senator
Lorna Milne -- plus letters sent to both Senators and Members
of Parliament. Hard-copy letters are better -- FREE postage.

Way back when, ancestors of many of us arrived at Halifax in 1751
and then founded Lunenburg and vicinity in 1753. The year 2003
will mark the 250th anniversary with various celebrations planned,
with reunions, a trip by ship from Halifax to Lunenburg, plus Down
Home hospitality.
One radio/internet program advertising the coming events is the
Sail On Nova Scotia - SONS - by Bryan Keddy. There is only
one small bad bit of luck -- Bryan now has to pay for the Live365
for our listening pleasure. Following is a note from Bryan:-
"Just a short note to let you know that I spent all night recording
(Roger Whitaker, The Whites, Paul Overstreet, Alberta Slim, Willie
Forbes and many others) then uploaded over 175 new songs for this weeks
SONS program" The SONS program is available at
http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/bryanfkeddy/SONS.html
Once all the required bits are done like registration, the next time
you would just have to click on the black arrow in the yellow circle,
click on "Log In" -- make sure the speakers are on -- and ENJOY!
Sail On Nova Scotia also has census announcements -- genealogists
would like to see the release of the 1906 and 1911 records -- the theme
song is "I'm My Own Grandpa" - who will do the family history!
----------------
The latest to join the 2003 list of celebrations is the City of Brampton,
celebrating its sesquicentennial - 1853 - 2003. Events are planned
for every month, including regaining the Flowertown of Canada title.
