Hello Shirley
We are in the middle of renovating our house and I can't locate my copy of
Cory In Recall the history of the RM of Cory which was written in the early
1950's. I imagine the University of Saskatchewan would have a copy and
maybe it would be available through interlibrary loan. It speaks
extensively about the Blackley District and the other districts that became
the RM.

The Blackley district is directly east of Saskatoon and boarded on the
north by the South Saskatchewan River. Kilmaurs if I recall correctly was
the name of the school district and the school which I believe but am not
positive was on David Blackley's land (SE 1/4 - 20-37-4 W3).

My great great grandfather, David Blackley and his family came from
Kilmaurs, Ayr, Scotland in 1884 to settle in the Temperance Colonization
Society tract of land around Saskatoon. The District was named after them.

Sorry I don't know/recall where Gardenvilla is.

Hope this helps.
