Thanks Sue:

My gr.gr. grandfather was Richard Pattenden, born in Headcorn, Kent, England
on July 18, 1825. He married Ann Brown in 1849, don't know where they wed,
but she was born somewhere in England. They lived in the Minesing area, and
some of their children are on the Stouffville census. Richard died Nov 7,
1886 and Ann died in 1910 ** brain wave- she should be on the 1901 census
**. I'll have to check that. Hopefully one of the relatives know where the
Minesing cemetery is. (I don't even know where Minesing is.) There might
be a headstone. I want to get pictures for a book I'm try to write.

Nancy,

Just to add a suggestion to what Lorine and Valorie have told you . .
whenever you post to a list like this, always include what probably IS
known to you, such as full name, birth year, where they came from (country
/ county), where they settled etc. Approximations are okay, so if you have
to guess, mention that in your post. Lots of people on lists have access
to a variety of records, so with a name etc. they can do a look-up. If
they settled in Ontario, they could have arrived via Quebec, or even New
York (and taken the Erie canal) so don't overlook that possibility.
