Hello list
I have just subscribed to this list and thought I would just jot down the
name that I am researching. I am researching the name
McEachern/McKechnie/McEachnie. I beleive my family came to Canada from Mull
Scotland about 1847. The family consisted of My gr gr gr grandfather, John
and his children Donald, John, Neil, Alexander, Roderick, Euphemia and Mary.
I don't beleive that his wife Mary MacArthur McEachnie ever came to Canada
but I don't know for sure. I am also not sure that the family all travelled
together. According to census records I beleive that Donald came first and
was about 20 at the time, this would have been about 1841. I beleive that
John jr, Neil, and Alexander travelled together all being between 18 and 25
about 1845-1847 and that they then sent for John sr with Euphemia and Mary
(the girls were younger, but I am unclear about their ages.)
If any of these names appear on a ships list I have never found them. I
joined the list hoping that perhaps someone out there would have run across
them.
